Thanks Loopie.

The anesthetic has worn off so I can feel the pain now. My heel is throbbing but I can move all my toes. Yesterday I could move my toes initially but they became numb and I couldn't feel anything, which was probably due to the anesthetic that lasts 24 hours.

After 19 days my leg is out of the cast and I'm now in a CAM boot. I'm still reliant upon the crutches and will be in this boot for the next 4 weeks. The surgeon said the wound appeared to be healing well and looked clean. So far so good. I've got a follow-up appointment with the surgeon in a couple of months. In the meantime I'll have to find a physio and start working to transition out of this boot into a heel wedge.
