Soreness-
Hip flexors

They started feeling sore after I did the 3x100m ME last week. I think because I spend around 12 hours a day sitting down in the office it has led to them becoming weak. I don't want to overkill them with stretching, but I am going to try and sit with a better posture at work and also try and stand up and walk around for a couple of minutes every hour.

There would be a lot less cases of anterior pelvic tilt around. Not sure about the toilets though :P

Edit- Playing 4 games of 7s on the weekend. The timetable just came out:

Teams I'm playing against:
9:50am- Uni
11:50am- Woodville
1:10pm- Old Coles
2:10pm- Brighton

Hopefully my team can win at least 2 of those games. I'm not expecting to make the finals but if my team does play well then we play in a semi final and grand final on the same day. Potentially could end up playing 6 games but we'll see.

Training tonight we played 90 minutes of 7s against our U18 and U20 teams with teams rotating whenever a try (touchdown) was scored. A lot of my old team mates were out tonight saying I still had the speed etc. but personally I didn't feel anywhere near 100% coz I had DOMS from the squats last night along with the aforementioned soreness and felt slow. I'm feeling pumped for Saturday! Rest up tomorrow get plenty of sleep and come out fresh and hopefully my teams brings their A game. We can beat any team we just got to work hard and support each other.

i have an applet on chrome that shuts my screen down for two minutes 2-3 times an hour during the work day. it's easy to ignore if i'm plowing through something but most of the time i use it as a prompt to get up and go to the bathroom, or get some water, or just do a few old man stretches at my desk. i think it's called break time. worth a try.

Played in the 7s tournament on the weekend. It pretty much went as I expected in that we were short of players and had no substitutes so it was a tough day.

Game 1- Started the game off poorly with them scoring 2 of the first try's due to one of my team mates dropping the ball and turning over possession. We scored the last 3 tries of the game and managed to pull off the win.

Game 2- We started really well and should've won this game, but once again handling errors cost us a try (I offloaded to my team mate 5m away from the line but he dropped it). Scores were level with 1 minute to go and the other team threw a forward pass, which didn't get called by the umpire. It was forward by close to a metre and everyone pretty much stopped expecting a whistle but the ref called play on and they scored under the posts, which cost us the game. One of my team mates starting abusing the ref and got a yellow card and warned that he'd get a red card if he kept going. He couldn't help himself and just kept swearing and going off his tree so the ref sent him off and gave him a red card, which meant he couldn't take part in any other games for us that day.

Game 3- Down to 6 players we had to poach one of the U20 players. We started off well I scored  the first try with a chip and chase, but not much good happened after that. Ended up losing.

Game 4- I think everyone had just had enough because we knew we weren't going to make the semi-finals. Our play maker decided just to go home after the 3rd game so we had to use another U20 player who wasn't feeling up to scratch due to getting on the piss last night. To top it off we were playing Onkas, which is one of if not the strongest clubs in the state so they tore us to pieces. I barely even touched the ball in this game. First time I touched it was when I caught it from a short kickoff and got smashed immediately and the other time was when my team mate through me a hospital pass and I got completely lined up.

Physically I actually don't feel that bad today. Lower body apart from a few scratches around my shins and knees I'm fine. Upper body I do feel sore around my neck and traps. I have visible bruising around my delts (probably from when I got the hospital pass).

Fuuuuck this type of bullshit. In pro Ultimate there's an "integrity rule" so even if the refs make the wrong call the player committing the foul can call a foul on himself or call himself out or whatever and that ends up happening quite a lot with some teams. But at college/club level games are usually self-officiated and lots of players make salty calls cause they got beat.

Rugby seems like you need to be really all-around tough and really athletic to play. Is it like football without pads? How do people manage that level of physicality???

Yeah it was a bad call but I was more disappointed with my team mate because he should've just controlled his mouth and anger. The ref was never going to change the decision so there was no point in arguing and abusing him. If we were playing at a professional level we could've questioned it and they would be able to do a '3rd umpire' decision and watch replays and angles on the big screen, but this is just amateur level rugby.

Rugby it's a difficult sport you definitely need to be athletic if you're a back and be very durable. For me I love running with the ball and playing offense. Defense I try and hit hard make the tackles, but it's not something I really enjoy doing. I just love playing attack, but half the time you're soo tired from playing defense that when you do get the ball you're already fairly tired so it's hard coming up with the endurance especially at 7s level. In games it's a bit better because often there's more stop and start especially when you're on the wing.

There's another 7s comp in Adelaide coming up soon and an ex-Fijian sprinter is playing in it.

http://fijivillage.com/sport/Tabakaucoro-turns-down-Rugby-League-offers-k2rs95/
"Pacific sprint king and new rugby convert Banuve Tabakaucoro has turned down a few offers from some Rugby League clubs in Australia to pursue his Rugby Sevens dream for Fiji.

Tabakaucoro’s new coach Solomoni Donu told Fijivillage this morning that his training has been going well.

The Silverwaters Barbarian Rugby Club 7s team is currently in camp in Nadroga where they are training at the Sand Dunes, Lawaqa Park and the FRU High Performance Training Center.

Donu says the Fiji Rugby Union is also looking forward to seeing Tabakaucoro do well on the rugby pitch.

The Silverwaters Barbarian Rugby Club will leave our shores next Wednesday where they will play in the Adelaide 7s next Saturday and Sunday.

Many local rugby pundits are looking forward to the progress of Tabakaucoro and what he will bring into Fiji rugby"

His 100m is 10.20 FAT. He obviously has the athleticism but whether he can handle the physicality is another question. Dwain Chambers converted to rugby league after his doping ban, but he couldn't handle the physicality and endurance aspect of the game.
