Thanks Coges! He's healthy and seems to be a cheerful kid. Hasn't been crying much, which is great but I don't want to talk to soon haha.

Hasn't been crying much.

Famous last words mate haha.

Enjoy every moment of it even though there's not a whole lot for you to do right now. .

I been slack with the updates but basically the last 2 weeks rugby league:

My team the Bulldogs beat the Western District Warriors 32-20. We played today and beat the Roosters 28-6.

If anybody is interested you can watch the live stream + commentary on facebook from the game today. We're 2nd on the ladder now.

I got selected to represent South Australia this year in rugby league. We had our affiliated states tournament over the weekend. We played 3 games against Western Australia, Victoria, and Northern Territory. My best game was definitely against the Victorian team and that was also SA's best game of the tournament as well. We lost the game but we were winning at half time and I also scored a try.

Results-
WA 48 SA 14
VIC 22 SA 14
NT 34 SA 14

Now that state has finished I won't have to go to state trainings on Monday and Wednesday night, which will free up some time for me to get back into going to the gym consistently. I'll start posting more frequently now.

Check out 19:45. I didn't score a try on this play but I made a 30m break and the guy that tackled me got knocked out.

Reading adarq's journal got me internalising motivation so I thought I'd just blog it down here rather than hijacking his journal. Anyway
100% agree with the motivation factor. I've been slacking with it as well. Sometimes I'll go through phases of being motivated and wanting to put in effort but than there'll be other times where I just think realistic/negatively and wonder what I'm trying to do or achieve!?  I love sprinting but the injuries were just killing me and it's such a solitary sport, let alone when you're not at an elite level with any training partners. Obviously with sprinting there's no subjectivity it's just you against the clock, although there's never the perfect race. I was just in such a rut and constantly overweight/injured that I couldn't do anything. I pretty much pissed away 2014/2015/2016, which were prime years of athletic life.

Personally I have found getting back into rugby league has been good for me this year. At least with rugby league even if I'm doing nothing extra I'm committed to training a couple times each week with my team mates and going out and playing a game on the weekends. But then even now I'm still not committed to dieting, I still overindulge with alcohol, and I've got pissweak motivation for going to the gym. However, what is there to push me? What am I trying to achieve? I don't know. All I know is I've got to force myself to start going to the gym again and lifting weights. As for rugby league the focus will just be on scoring tries and hopefully winning a premiership this year with the Bulldogs. Think less do more...

You're not alone mate. I think a lot of us go through these times where we question what we're really doing and why. I ask myself on a daily basis why I'm not just another gym bro. Things would be so much easier. I'd think about training less and probably get much better results too. Also, you need to cut yourself some slack. How old is your son now? My life basically got put on hold in 2009 when my son was born.

As for motivation I think it just comes and goes unless you have momentum or a group to train with. Like you said, rugby is keeping you involved so at the least you know that side is covered. You'll get back into the gym eventually. I've been on and off since late Feb but bit the bullet this morning and got up at 4.45 to go to a new gym. Motivation is back but it took a good 4 months.

*Edit- I also question why I'm doing what I'm doing regularly but get sharp reminders every now and then. Had one on the weekend watching my 7 year old son do gymnastics and doing handstands, chin ups, push ups, flips, etc. Makes me want to be better than, or at least be able to keep up with him.

Waking up at 4:45 is commitment!!!

Rugby league wise my motivation is now to win the Premiership with the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were founded in 1976 and have won 8 1st Grade Premierships- - 1978, 1980, 1983, 1994, 1997, 2001, 2008, 2016. This season we will be aiming to be the first team in Bulldogs history to go back to back.

Gym wise I'm just going to slowly start working up with moderate weights/volume starting from Monday.

I know I said that I'd start going to the gym again this week but I had a very physical game on the weekend. We were missing quite a few of our regular players so we had to use about half a dozen best of the rest players from our reserve squad. I got thrown into the centres in the 2nd half to accommodate for other players instead of my usual spot on the wing. Defensively playing centres is a lot more physical than playing wing because you're closer to the middle of the field and have to make a lot more tackles. My shoulders and arms are all bruised up and I've got a sore collarbone. Need to rest. My team ended up getting the win 26-22 and I scored the winning try (1:00:06)

Thanks Coges. I was out on my feet but I knew the other team was tired as well. I saw the weakness in their defensive line and I capitalised upon it. I couldn't even celebrate properly I was just glad that I could finally rest haha.

Thanks!

Finally went to the Gym last night but I didn't even do any weights LOL!

Chin Ups-
10x3

Other than that just the usual playing rugby league. We won 16-0 last week and this week we play the only team that has beat us this season, which should be a good match. They beat us the first game and we beat them in the second. This will be the last time we play them before finals so it would be great to win and get the mental edge over them.

Sorry Fam I been slack on the updates. My team has still only lost the 1 game all season and I've still been a slack bitch when it comes to going to the gym.

A youtube video of a try I scored a couple of weeks ago:
