Good to see you recovering nicely.

I have an experimental question, how good do you think ankle drags are where you attach weight to each ankle and you do sprint starts up to 10m to get low heel recovery as well as power for each leg added benefit.

What do you think of this idea. worth experimenting?
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strength comes from the legs, Power comes from the torso and Speed comes from the arm. Al Vermeil
Arm also aids the legs in driving it down with power - seifullaah73

It was a positive to run again but I had a bit of a setback. 1 step forward 2 steps back :(

I've always trained fairly conventionally and have never tried running with ankle weights. It's really up to you whether you want to experiment with it.

Just rested the past couple of days.

I had visitors staying at my house last night and their car got stolen. It was unlocked but none of us even heard anything. 2019 Mazda 3 and it was uninsured  :raging:

BW- 91.1

Lacked motivation lately because my achilles is just doing my head in. First training for 8 days but I have been eating moderately, hence the small weight loss.

Squat-
60x3
100x3
122.5x3
137.5x3
142.5x1
107.5x5

Chin Ups-
12x3

Treadmill-
Walked for 3km @ 6km/h
Jogged 500mx2 @ 14.7km/h & 14.8km/h

I need to purchase new shoes again because my calcified left achilles always pushes into the heel and wears it out quickly. Then when the heel wears out it aggravates my insertional achilles tendinitis because there's even more pressure pushing against the achilles insert. It's just fkn depressing. I'm 29 I should be in my prime instead I've spent the last 12 months unable to run or play any sport.

My gym has been shut indefinitely due to COVID19 so I can't lift weights for a while.

I've got an appointment with the Podiatrist tomorrow with plans of getting shock wave therapy on my achilles. Hopefully this treatment works!!!

COVID19 is causing havoc to the Australian economy. Thousands of people became unemployed today due to all pubs, clubs and gyms being closed. Tough times...

You were right bro! 3 million people filed for unemployment in the USA last week. Our stats are done monthly so in the middle of April we'll get the unemployment figures for March, which won't capture all of the unemployment.

The Podiatrist went well and I've actually had a couple of sessions now. The diagnosis was that I don't need surgery I just have fairly severe bilateral Achilles tendonosis. The management plan is shockwave therapy on the achilles, dry pin needling on my calves, Orthotics for my shoes and continuation of the calf strengthening exercises I was given by the Physio. I've read mixed reviews about Orthotics but at this stage I'm willing to give anything a try. I've been told the chance of the shock wave therapy working is about 75% so we'll see.

I had my first shock wave therapy done on Tuesday and my feet got strapped after that. Yesterday I had dry pin needling on my calves and my calves felt sore as fuck afterwards. My next session is on Tuesday where I'll have another bout of shock wave on my Achilles.

Went for a 6km walk to my local rugby club.

Sprints-
90% speed  50mx5

I was excited to discover that my Samsung phone had this app called Samsung Health. I thought it would be able to record my speed. Unfortunately the app tops out at 27km/h (16.77MPH)  :(

I had no pain during the sprints but my left achilles is feeling a bit tender now. See how it pulls up tomorrow.

BW- 91.0

My right achilles pulled up perfectly today but my left achilles pulled up awful. If I can't sprint I will never be able to play rugby league again. I was hoping to play rugby league this year but with the COVID-19 the season has been put on hold anyway.

Since the gym is closed indefinitely I'm going to use this as an opportunity to go on a cut. I'm only going to eat one meal a day and I'll drink coffee and protein shakes for all my other meals. I'm going to keep this cut going until I get down to 80kg, which is 11kg (24lbs) lighter than I am now.

Depending on how my achilles feels I'm planning to run again next Saturday. Clearly my body is not up to sprints but I need to somehow build some work capacity into my achilles and load the tendon so it can grow and adapt. I'll be very conservative and just do a couple of 200m runs at 35 second pace. If that works and I'm pain-free the next day I can start building up the volume while keeping the pace very slow at 35 seconds. When I can get to 200mx5 @ 35 seconds I'll start doing 2 sessions a week and drop down to 200mx2 @ 33 seconds.

why not start with something like couch to 5k, where you intersperse walking with jogging at first?

also, dry needling is wild. my n=1 is that it is extremely effective at resolving referred pain. wish i'd thought of it last fall when i was getting those posture headaches (like i did the other day). something to seek out whenever the lockdown is over. no idea how it'd work for something as severe as what you have, or why the PT thinks it'd help fix your achilles, but i guess he's prescribing it for a reason.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.
