5.51 miles in ~57 minutes

slept in and procrastinated til latest possible time before i could run and then have to get ready for work.  i tried to eat really fast before running and was bloated that plus the heat beat me down i kinda wanted to stop halfway but i got it in this time :ibrunning:

hah damn. be careful mijo!

When I run in the sun (> 7 AM training runs), I wear this hat, helps protect my face:

?taken-by=andrewdarqui

worth getting one if you do lots of day-time runs. I also wear a hoody/sweatshirt on my easy runs in the sun, to protect from it. Makes you much hotter but also slows you down, which is good I guess. If I wear my "nike pro elite" dri-fit shirts, I get sun burned, because they have tiny holes in them, sun penetrates I guess.

I def don't burn as ez anymore though, lots more sun exposure with this running stuff.

edit: once the hoody/sweatshirt is fully drenched, doesn't seem to make you much hotter from my experience. at that point, seems to cool you down instead.. lol. it gets kind of cold when it's full of water. Windbreakers though, they keep you hot. Cotton hoodies seem to be better than windbreakers.

Thurs june 28
2:38 AM start
7.6 miles in 1 hour 25 minutes

was contemplating going 10 miles but i wimped out and stopped on third lap and stopped when i got close to my house.... each lap of one of my usual routes is ~2.5 miles... maybe i will gradually build up instead to 8 8,5 etc so i wont wimp out.. i used to run 9 miles with an old boxing coach but not in the past few years

sat june 30 2018
5 miles in 46 minutes
not a hard run in that i pushed myself to the limits like i was racing but there were small intervals where i strove to push it past a "stroll pace".  Running in a 5k on wed not really getting high hopes because i havent been running hard but i will use my time to build off of.  almost feels good to be active but only do it in a casual manner as opposed to revolving my life around it like I did with boxing for so long.  somethings missing tho.  will figure it out soon hopefully

Wed July 4 2018
Michelob Ultra 5k

Really rainy and nasty I also had too much coffee which may have upset my stomach
Not happy with my time which was 23:33 the slowest time I ever got in a 5k but its something to build off of and gradually improve with each 5k i want to do regularly now.  Gotta get more comfortable with being uncomfortable because I couldve pushed it faster.  One thing I didnt like about the course is at some parts the pathways were so narrow making it hard to pass people.  Fun event though they had lots of free beer and food. They also have a sausage eating contest each year but it was cancelled this time because after the race it started pouring down really hard.  I got an age group award not really worth boasting about I got 2nd in 25-29 age group.  Probably because it was divided into 2 races and most of the fast people did the 5 mile race because that race had prize money and I did the 5k race.  For those interested in the race and results heres the link

good work mijo! every road race is diff, easier to compare this race to what you do next year (if you do it again).

ya i stopped drinking coffee prior. makes my HR too high & makes me feel too jumpy, as well as wrecking my stomach a few times. I personally don't think it's worth it anymore, for running. dunking yes, running no. Well, for me at least. If it increases risk of stomach/GI issues, def not worth it for running.

hah @ sausage eating contest. sux it got canceled lol.

5 miler winner was fast. 26min eheh!!
