I have been focusing on single leg work and p-chain for the last few weeks/months and my knees are feeling great lately. This is probably the strongest I have ever been. Yesterday I did split squats with 80kg for 4 sets of 12 reps. All with very strict form and full range of motion.  :headbang:

Do you use a barbell or dumbbells?

barbell... goal is 3 plates (140kg) for 10 reps... would be sick.  :P

how do you deal with balance issues?

I have tried it, I always seem to go off balance and sometimes fall to the side.

But Good job, 80kg is a big weight on one leg split squats, 140kg on one leg would be beastly, almost impossible, that would be insane if you did do it.

Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm

Actually I don't have any balance issues.  :ninja:
We'll see if it is impossible or not. What I have found is, that unilateral work hits the VMO way harder which is probably the reason why my knee is so happy with me as of late.

So I guess you do them with a narrow (close) stance?

Today I felt very strong and did split squats with 92.5kg (205lbs) for 9 reps on the 10th rep I was pretty fatigued and became a bit sloppy. I kinda dive bombed into the rep with too much weight on my rear leg. The result was a sharp pain in my right quad (rectus femoris) and what appears to be a slight tear. It's not too bad today though... so I should be back on track within a few days.

On another note, my legs and especially my glutes are getting a little bit too big for my liking. Did some measurements today and my upper thighs are 69cm (27.5") and my glutes are 107cm (42.5") my girlfriend jokingly said to me a few days ago that I'm starting to get a really nice ghettobooty.   :personal-record:::)

I get the most soreness ever from BSSs in the glutes, but usually from dumbbell BSSs.

Yeah.. same here. But at the moment I don't do BSSs. Both my legs are on the ground. I might incorporate some BSS back into my program at some point but I actually like this variation a lot more especially because balance is not so big of an issue.

By the way my upperbody pressing strength is pretty pathetic at the moment. I did 45kg for 10 reps yesterday, whereas my 10 rep PR is something like 60-65kg. Oh well... it's far from a priority anymore though so I'm not really concerned.

87-89kg in gym clothes or about 195lbs at a height of 1.83/6'. Bodyfat is around 12-14%.
90kg/200lbs is the upper bodyweight limit for me.
