video from yesterday. im 5'9 in shoes so 69 inches. the orange plate under the rim is 9'6. on my second jump I had the top of my head was at the glass which is 2-3 inches or so below that. So lets just call it 9'2 to be conservative.

9'2 equals 110 inches. 110-69 = 41 inches. Those jumps were taken after playing pick up and dunking for a while. Plus, I am in the middle of a training phase and my legs havent fully recovered yet. So i'd say at the moment my running vertical is anywhere from 41-43 inches. 45 inches comming soon.

gym finally got new power racks. first time squatting in over a year. Previous PR was 265 lbs once, hit 300 pounds today easy!!!!! :personal-record: :personal-record: almost 2x body weight full squat, weighed in at 155 today. legs feel crazy strong right now and its showing in my vertical.  looking forward to getting back into squatting, hope to get up in the high 300s.

Been trying real hard to get that first dunk but its so hard for everything to go right. I think the second jump is a PR and I may have hit 40. I know the angle is shit but I hit my wrist on the rim. I have only done that when attempting to get a high touch on rim making it ~ 37-38 with ~ 7'6" reach.

Does it seem like a 40inch jump? It has been a long time goal and it would be a big achievement.  First 3 jumps are the biggest by far so not really worth watching after, just more misses and lower jumps.

not sure if it's 40, but it looks pretty high, definitely close if not 40..

2nd jump was nasty, definitely should have thrown that down hard haha..






my comment from youtube:

really nice jumps man, looking high.. a few of those dunks were crazy close. it took me a while to get lobs down, once i had the vert for them.. that second dunk on vid, that's the best lob, concentrate on lobbing like that each time, it didn't have alot of forward travel, just sat there right above the front of the rim.

Dunked on a ~9'6" rim CLEAN and SO HARD, the bolt from the brace (the square thing connecting the rim to backboard) fell off.  I lifted heavy the night before and was a little fatigued too, so I can probably get like one more inch if I was fresh. 

10'0" coming soon.
Goal is to dunk.

Vertical needed to dunk: 40"

Current vertical : 38.5"
