Use a better ball the next time, with more grip.

LBSS- The ring is 10 feet regulation size.
Raptor- If I run faster I can jump higher but when I try and run faster I end up losing grip of the ball. That's not just with that ball but with every ball. I probs just got to work on palming the ball more. That said the ball I was using in that vid is just a cheap outdoor Wilson one so yeh maybe using a ball with better grip would help out as well.

Edit- It's not the grip that's the problem though. It's the fact that I barely got enough vertical to dunk so if I gained another couple of inches I wouldn't have this problem at all.

No, you don't need to work on your palming, you just need a ball with a better grip. I've had this discussion over and over and over, and it's 100% in the ball. I have balls that I can "palm" and really hold onto them using just two fingers, they have that good of a grip.

You'd definitely dunk with such a ball, and also move much better with it.

Yeah but ideally you should be able to dunk with any ball regardless of its grip.

Well go back in time and choose parents with great hand size genetics and great hand skin grip. :P

This morning I got a 32" standing vertical jump on a jump mat.. I consider that pretty good for me since it was in the morning with no mood to jump and really no warm up the day after a squat workout... My fitness teacher brought it out and me him and his colleague just started jumping.

So PR since I never really measured my standing vert.. Kinda makes me think I could get 35 if was really hype...   :personal-record:
Goal
