Went in the park, played 2:30 hours of 3 on 3, had a bunch of rim-grazing dunks on the 2.92m rim (I think 6 or 7 of them). I would be interesting to see how well I jump if I take a break and rest a bit and also get under 90 kg, hopefully I can find out in a few months.

I also landed on someone's foot going for a rebound a week ago and my left foot swole just a little, amazingly enough. I can barely feel some pain here and there and can jump and play pretty well. I guess my running shoes were OK for an event like this.

Sore quads and posterior chain

Single Leg wall sit ISO - 1/4 squat - 2x 45secs
Good load for the whole leg and tendons, but without any compression on the patella

Big reduction in soreness
Weighed 88.8kg this morning  equal to my current lowest so far, but waist was 36.5 inches.
Starting to lean down again, after a month of above maintenance to ramp the metabolism back up again

OK this really loads up the soleus!


Reboot - Week 17, Day 3 - Upper weights

Very weak in the bench press. Pretty good in the high bar squat, although it's very exhausting. Added some chest machine to supplement chest work. Also, at this point my leg curls are better than my leg extensions.

3K low aerobic HR zone warmup
Sprint 3x1000m / 90'' walking rest
2K low aerobic HR zone down

Goal pace for the 1K sprints was 4:45 first and then negative splits.
I got 4:46 / 4:44 / 4:33. Sweet!
Also that was the 6th run in  the last 9 days.

Notes

Turns out super-setting squat with db bench is pretty demanding. Got through this workout in 45 mins tho, so that's nice. Feel like my baseline "fitness" is pretty good if it can accommodate that density of training.

Also lol, v surprised by this being my lowest weight yet. Would have bet on being back in the 72s for at least a week after what felt like a binge-eating episode while with my fam. I'm not complaining tho.

Low aerobic HR zone run 9K @ 1:07:56 ( 7:33 pace )

That was the longest (in km) low HR run of 2024.
Also the longest (in duration) any kind of run of 2024.
Was a bit slower than last week's low HR run though. Oh well, can't have it all.
