I wish there was a sarcasm font on the forum. So many guys that know a lot about training being sarcastic to a lot of guys that don't know training. Hard to tell when they're serious or not. Haha. BTW, I'm obviously one of the guys that doesn't know a lot about training.
My real name is Daniel. (6'5" - 217lbs.)

I didn't have time to read this whole thread, so my apologies if I am restating or directly contradicting someone, I just gotta be somewhere and I wanted to make my mark here before I forget.

I have always been big on benching, ever sense I started. I got up to a 355 pound bench at 185 bw at 17 years old (almost a RAW WR)  However, i recently decided to do push press as my main upperbody lift. Not to say I don't bench anymore, I just use it as a supplementary lift instead of a primary. Bench is a great lift, but for my purposes, push press is more practical. I'm a shot putter and a highland games athlete, and bench was to flat of a lift, I needed strength in a upward direction instead of just straight out. I began to look into other alternatives and eventually came to the decision to prioritize push press. It has already helped immensely with my throwing, and its just a fun lift. Not to mention if you can push press a lot, you can probably bench a lot, but it doesn't necessarily work the other way around. In any case, I've found that push press has been great for me, and its not so hard on the shoulders, unlike bench can sometimes be. If I remember I'll come back and read the rest of this thread and I might say a few more words :P anyway, sorry for the lengthy post, hope I helped at least somebody. See ya'll later.
