I don't remember which forum member mentioned they almost passed out on a front squat because circulation? was cut off due to the bar.

I'm a bit afraid of this and the video he presented looked pretty scary.

The other day I reached a new FS PR with relative ease but I was afraid to test higher because if I pass out on a front squat, I could literally be paralyzed upon waking up or worse....

This is no joke here.....

Mate I already posted in your log but in that video it really looks like he racks it way too far back and basically on his windpipe. Heavy or slow tempo front squats always give me breath problems but that's just the nature of the lift. Just be smart about it when you do them.

The problem doesn't occur to people who fs regularly, they've figured out where to put the bar. It's the ones who do them rarely and suddenly do it out of the blue heavy who could have this problem imho. Of all the lifts to ego lift, front squat would be one of the last ones i'd do. They're scary enough as is. Don't really have much sympathy for the guy in the video (i didnt watch) but it gives front squats a bad name when the problem is the lifter.

Yeah I want to make sure there isn't some kind of pressure point near where the bar is placed that could cause someone to instantly black out. It seemed that way in that video.

I've definitely had harder breathing when I need to place the bar firmly on neck/collarbone area, but it didn't bother me too much, since I hold my breath anyway on the descent of squats.

No pressure point on front of neck. Only windpipe that can be an issue. Carotid artery on side of neck can put you out in seconds but doubt front squats could do that.

Did you see the other vid I posted of him? He passes out deadlifting 335 so potentially has some inherent issues.
