Title: movement analysis
Post by: djoe on February 09, 2011, 07:03:14 pm
I'm looking for some footage of people running or doing various drills (filmed from the front and/or from the side) so i can analyze technique, muscle weaknesses, imbalances, tightness, range of motion, joint sequencing, differences in time on the ground/air, unnecessary movements etc

this could help

1) you: by finding out where possible injuries can occur or what might limit your current performance
2) me: by improving on those skills=)

if any of you guys are willing to film and post a video, it would be nice to have:

- maximal speed sprinting (more than 30yards or meters from an upstart) - from the front and from the side (5-10 meters/yards away from direction you are sprinting)
- a backwards movement such as walking trying to kick your butt, or long strides trying to kick your butt - filmed from the side
- a sideways movement such as sideways bouncing, or lateral easy jumps filmed from both the front and the side
- backward or forward lunges - filmed from the side and from the front
- any sort of slower speed drill (high knees, ankle rolls, light skipping) from both the side and the front
- double leg low intensity jumps forwards for 10 meters/yards, not focusing on height or distance, just relaxed jumping - from both front and side

I'm not asking for everything that's in there, but the more you can get the better. The first 2 are the most important. Even one of them will be able to tell a lot.

here's an example (look at the comments)
