Title: Paused Squats
Post by: ruso15 on October 02, 2012, 12:23:22 pm
Are the paused squats in any kind superior to regular back squats? Strenght gains? more mass recluitment? eliminating the strech reflex would affect negatively in the transition to jumping movements?

If you jump quite a bit you don't care about the stretch reflex during squatting.

You probably don't need to worry about it. It would be safer if you have knee issues probably.

i like them.  i like to "free fall" to the bottom and stick the position with a 2-3 second hold.  really halt the eccentric suddenly.  I use 70-85% with this method  1-3 reps per set.
