Title: Toe shoes for plyometric anyone ?
Post by: scoobychau on December 23, 2012, 10:59:56 pm
What do u guys about doing plyometric in toe shoes?

i had seen people doing deadlift with toe shoes and also read the some people like to squat barefooted.

the Adiprue trainer (toe shoe) Product video also show a guy jumping on to a box with the toe shoes.

I mean jumping on to higher object have no impact, and it is what Addi show in their video.

Some toe shoes reviewer said they had bad experience with it for plyometric (with other activity, they love the shoes)

What do u guys think? Had any one try doing plyo jump, shock landing, depth jump with toe shoes?

I think it's more of a crossfit fettish. Everyone in crossfit at the military gyms have vibrams on when doing their WODs. I had a pair of vibrams also, loved em! Did everything in them. Squats, jumps, sprints, Physical training tests such as the 1.5 mile run. I never had any foot problems in them except for two things. When I ran the 1.5 miles my calves and ankles were sore for 3 days. I was also always shooting ball in them just to shoot around and a couple of times was asked to play pick up on full court. So I played full court in them as well. Left blisters on my feet. It was funny to think that I was killing those 3 back to back games I played in them and even dunked on someone in them in the main game. I stopped wearing them bc I wore them out and they developed holes in between the toes. I didn't develop any kind of foot pain with them or anything but some people do so be careful if you get them. Now I play in the waffle racers, and soon the new Kobe system 8's I just ordered.

Hope that helps, to me the best surface for them is grass or turf and carpet.

Here is my advice... spend $80 on them, and then when you get them, take a pair of scissors and cut them up and make yourself a nice deadlifting glove.

Creative! +1

that's what i did with mine, except i bought the identical fila version for $25.  after i wore them i came to my senses.

$25 Fila... Good decision on the glove Mod.
A decent Glove may cost more than $30
