what race and ethnicity are you?

Just out of curiosity, I would like to know what race and ethnicity/cultural background everyone is.  I'll go first: I am Asian-pacific Islander... of the Han Chinese descent.  According to one site, the ppl with the most fast twitch muscle fiber is ppl of west african descent (100m dash, nba, nfl, etc)  with eastern africans have the most slow twitch muscle fibers (eithiopian marathon winners, etc).  Everyone else is in between.

33yrs | 24in SVJ | >45% BF | 227LB | 5'9 | 7'5 reach | 400lb max squat paused | 5'8 wingspan | 26in RVJ

Coming back from 2 years of inactivity!

Goal: Maintain 385-405lb squat while cutting down to 165 LB

The other thread shows it. But I think running and jumping got more to do than just with fast twitch muscle fibres.
Jumping and running both depend on the elasticity of the tendons and the power which can be produced by the muscles. Someone with a lot of bounce and a large difference between running and standing vert, like early career MJ, would have very elastic tendons, while someone with little difference would be someone who relies mainly on muscular strength, like olympic lifter Pyrros Dimas, who's not a jumper but has an impressive vert.
Concentric strength is most important at the beginning of the 100m, but the middle and end rely more on tendon elasticity. (how someone like carl lewis, who was comparatively weak and didn't lift weights can still be fast).
This is purely anecdotal but I think Asians got better fast twitch muscles than white people but white people got better elasticity of the tendons. Look at Olympic lifters. To be a great Olympic lifter you need to have a lot of fast twitch muscle and Asians dominate at lifting in anything under heavyweight. Same as when you watch sprints the Asian sprinters always get out the blocks really fast and have awesome 60m times but kind of fade out in 100m and especially in the 200m. In the 200m there's been about 40 people who have gone sub 20, in which 5 of them have been white and 0 Asian. In the 100m there's been about 90 who have gone sub 10 with only 1 of them white and 0 Asian. But if you look at the amount of Asians that have gone sub 10.1 to the amount of whites it's pretty even and maybe there's even been more Asians under 10.1 than whites. There could be other factors to that as well like Asians being shorter, which would give them an advantage in the first part of the race coz it's easier to accelerate when you're shorter or if you got shorter limbs it's easier to lift heavier weights because you've got less ROM. Either way I think Asians got pretty good fast twitch muscles but they don't have very good elasticity. Look at Asian calves. They're huge. Look at black calves their small. Yet black people got the best elasticity because small calves usually = speed. White people kind of fall in the middle.
So yeh just a broscience/anecdotal theory but it's something to think about.

Edit- anecdotal evidence- I got 2 guys that I know called Derek and Wallace. Derek is Asian and Wallace is white.
Derek (Asian) PBs-
60m- 6.78
100m- 10.84
200m- 22.05

Wallace (White) PBs-
60m- 7.05
100m- 10.89
200m- 21.49

But once again height comes into it coz Derek is 5'8 while Wallace is 6'2
Either way it's food for thought.

is there anyway to train tendon elasticity? is this the same as  "leg stiffness" i here being mentioned a lot of the leg don't know which part, or is that just for vert, i heard this a long time ago, which people can develop with bounding.
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arm also aids the legs in driving it down with power - seifullaah73

Yes there is. It's usually plyos and longer distance sprints (200-400m).

That's good to hear, i can do long distance running 200-400m.

and is it true that its not good to attempt the plyos until you can squat 1.5 or more x bw.

It depends on what you mean by the word "plyos".

Bounding and medium to high box depth jumps are not recommended for weak people.

that would mean me.
Until i get my squat up to a decent level.
My RDLs, Calf Raises, Half squats, Single leg hyperextension are coming on well its just the deep squats, which gets me all the time.
just got pinned with 60kg deep squat.

I'm a mutt but generally classified white/Caucasian/etc lol!

Interesting thoughts Mutumbo, I've always though geographical stressors/environment may play a role in genetic ceiling but never dictated by racial cues. Hmmm
