so sexy.

the one-handed backhand is so beautiful. him and wawrinka both. grip strength must be off the charts to pull that off the way they do. i occasionally switch to it and it's so much harder than two-handed.

ya fed's one handed backhand is the one i'm "studying". I use a single handed backhand, so he's pretty much the prototype.
as for grip strength, dno.. alot of these pros hold the racquets pretty relaxed, very loose. I hear lots of differing opinions on it. when my arm is stiff/locked on my single arm backhand, it's alot easier to get alot of power out of it.. if i have some bend, seems to be much harder to get that power.

i dunno man, being able to turn a 90 mph forehand around with power and control seems like it'd require an iron grip, no matter how relaxed it feels. the racket can't be loose in your hand or the ball would just spray off somewhere.

some good discussion on grip firmness etc:

there is also some good info here too:

read the NYT article you linked to. i didn't mean you should be stiff all the way through (although i'm a bad enough player that i tend to do better with a stiff wrist), just that at the moment of impact you have to hold on real tight. no disagreement.

great match!
I saw the first 3 sets, then went to sleep. Surprised how the 2nd, 4th, and 5th sets turned out.. what a back and forth.
It's really incredible that those two managed to get into the finals again (it seems like they are "back", especially Nadal).. Same with Serena/Venus.

awesome. Its been a while since federer had a win.
When it comes to wimbledon roger federrer will find it hard to win against the aggressive players like djokovic, murray or others.
