LOL, crazy what salaries you people have on that side of the world. And you have the guts to complain about economy and stuff.

Our cost of living is so much higher than yours though. That's why we need these salaries.

Right. Other than rent, if you don't have your own property, I can't see how many other things cost more. In terms of IT equipment, things cost pretty much the same, yet I have 0.1% of what you earn.

How much do you pay for a gallon or liter of milk?
The cheapest around me (within 5 minute walk) is $4.00
Most expensive (within 5 minute walk) is $4.79

Slice of pizza? I pay $2.75
Personal pie of pizza? 10 inches (25cm diameter) costs me $9.00

Don't tell me food doesn't cost much more here than it does for you if you're getting by on 0.1% of what I earn (yes, I know that percentage may be an exaggeration).

That really depends on the country and not necessarily on the cost of life.

In here:

milk - 1 lr. 1.5usd
gasoline - same as the US
cars ~ 1.5x US price
rent ~ from 150usd to 800usd
house's price ~ the same compared to the US
plane ticket ~ 2x compared to the US

minimum wage ~ 350usd (its impossible to live with that)

teacher's salary ~ 800-1300usd
starting m.d. wage ~ 2000usd
staring engineer wage (good company) ~ 2000usd as trainee 3000usd after that

easy, you just live with the minimum and if you really want something, you pay it for 10 years (cars) and 20-30 years for a house.
