I doubt that the starting strength wiki itself is making ansy serious $.  Funny he is a recent contributor to t-mag.   I would say all of the other press turns in the sales.  Articles at t-nation, his affiliation with crossfit, while short lived, really helped get his name out to the fitness industry, and all the work that elitefts did years ago.

Note I am not saying anything bad about rippetoe or SS just that I don't see the site as a huge income generator.

Now lyles site,  That is solid and I am sure he is making a decent amount of $ off of it.  Nice one!

Although Lyle got his start working with and writing for late shock jock Dan Duchaine so even his beginnings are rooted in the "radical results" aspect.  Without the radical results of Dan Duchaine it is unlikely that Lyle gets as far as he has as that was how he broke into the industry

Thanks,

It is pretty easy to see through the ads.

Also,  Why does everyone get so fed up with their "radical results" type stuff.  T-mag provides tons of good free material.

They need to make money some how.

Here is a challenge:

Find 1 site that is not "sold out", routinely turns a good profit, and provides good training information for free.

I am with you guys on the shady side of marketing. I am not a fan of a banded hack squat that sells for hundreds of $ with a bunch of hype but we should have some sort of "criteria" for these call outs.

I'll give you two:

http://www.bodyrecomposition.com

http://startingstrength.wikia.com

TNation provides some good free material and lots and lots of complete horseshit. Better to look elsewhere pretty much always.

some thibs quotes, ahahaha:

"Simply taking a walk outside is now a chore. Not cardiovascular-wise, but lactic acid wise... my calves get pumped to hell from the slightest hill over 30' long! It's funny because I'm definitely not fat. I still have a six pack, but I do feel like a 400lbs obese woman almost dying from shopping at Walmart! "

lmao ^^^^^^^^ so buy biotest products today!!!!! insane..

"Nothing out of the ordinary, really. I was 18 and played football. I foolishly believed that I could make it as a pro (despite being 5'8'' and Canadian) and decided to take the plunge"

ok i don't feel like going through all of this thread, i changed my mind, but that first quote is golden.

well, when biotest claims like, "better than steroids" and "20 lb lean mass in 8 weeks", crazy stuff like that.. we know it doesn't WORK to that extent... how come thibs is always putting on "20 lb of muscle" every few months, with some new product?

biotest = shady

By the same judgement Puke Lowry is a great trainer because he charges 2000$ per session.
