I don't know why everybody (and I'm not talking about anyone in specific) think the belt is to protect the back... if anything, it protects the abs/core, they have something to push against so they activate better (valsalva) which in turn does indeed protect the back. So it's an indirect correlation. Whatever.

You are correct it CAN protect the core to create "intra-abdominal pressure" but it also forces the abs and core to do less work in turn becoming weaker and more dependant on said belt.

Oh yeah absolutely. I think it's cool to wear a belt for testing purposes. 1RM-3RM stuff. You should not use it unless you're injured and still want to get some work in with lower weights or if you're just doing lighter than 3RM stuff in my opinion.

I can agree with that.

On a completely separate note, because this was started by discussing Squat Flex, and JumpUSA and affiliates.  I already know I'm gettin criticized for this post by certain indivuals here and I really don't care.  I am not condoning the use of the Squat Flex "Hack Squat" or any of its kind, by my statement either just making a few observations.

More recently I've been doing (tryin to do) more deadlifts with "EliteFTS Pro Short Bands" and even though I like the resistance I don't like the exercise because of inconvenience, and I think it would be easier if those bands were set up on something such as a platform (like the squat-flex appears, hence why I'm posting here).  Just having the bands hooked under my feet and on the bar, it seems like balance could become inconsistent, and it rubs quite heavily along my knees/lower legs, and also because of its placement I also end up changing my grip width on the bar.  So just some observations.

Thanks, last 1 on bottom looks a little bit like I was trying to set up.  I've been hookin them under my feet (They are the "pro short" bands), but that's not my fav method.  Good post.

on the flying101 dvd if my memory is right, BA says some kid bet him 20 bucks he couldnt dunk so he worked out blah and 1 day in the gym he went up and dunked it.  Never mentions a kid giving him an oop.  he also gave me his super secret workout plan which blew nut sack....and no mention of a squat flex in it (this was before they promoted jumpusa)

OhNo never mentions anything about doing a windmill for his first dunk, i think he mightve said it was just a 1 hander on the dvd, ill have to look again.  Also within 1 or 2 years ago in a vid, everyone went ape shit because ohno could finally do between the legs...but he claims he did it what shortly after his first dunk?

the short bands are meant for the deadlift platform, i have them too and cant use them since they were a lot shorter than i figured.  but they sell the platform  for 180 dollars or so( for conventional )  i think the sumo one is over 200 dollars
