Wow nice. It looks like it started last year.
Looking forward to it but not looking forward to the disappointing play by England. They lose every major championship.

US out of World Cup wtffff... Iceland qualified in an arguably harder group with a population of 300k and players who were raised playing indoor from youth. Coached by part timers etc.

I heard that netherlands won't be qualifying either. RIP another good team. Aswell as wales, chile and USA.
Glad argentina made it through I want them to win world cup.

That's crazy that the Netherlands won't be making it. In the 90's and early-mid 2000's they were a dominant force in world soccer up with the likes of Germany & Brazil.

some really good teams not making it .. netherlands (maybe?), chile definitely, argentina (maybe?).

TBH, i don't think the US not making it is some catastrophic thing.. man futbol is competitive. The US lost some close games. The US thinks we can dominate everything, expected to even be competitive at futbol, meanwhile US basketball lost in the olympics to Argentina several years ago. To me that is absolutely astonishing compared to US missing out on world cup.

The thing that needs to change I guess, is that our players need to play in europe/south america more, I think. MLS is cool but, home grown futbol success isn't going to happen on the level US fans/analysts expect, need to send players elsewhere. I wonder if the US could every create a team for one of these leagues overseas, and just have it operate like normal. I mean the schedules aren't as intense as say, NBA etc.. more like NFL football type of schedules. Could send teams back and forth. That'd be cool. That real madrid/manchester united game in MIAMI was awesome.

But ya, sucks that I won't be able to root on the US in world cup .. The US had some awesome matches last world cup.

Ireland's hopes of making it to the world cup over rip. Italy almost out of the world cup one more game with sweden. They have never failed to qualify for the world cup. Today is the match. def gonna watch, it's on their home turf too.

Ivory coast out too to morocco. Turning out to be an interesting world cup.

If Italy doesn't make it............................. lmao!!!! That should put the US not making it into proper perspective.

Good though, this is why they play the qualifiers. Got to stay sharp, otherwise adios!!

Australia has made the World Cup!!!

Junior participation rates for soccer are fairly strong in Australia but honestly it's literally behind rugby league, AFL, and cricket in terms of popularity. Ivory Coast, Italy and the Netherlands all missing out is a huge shock as Ivory Coast are an African heavyweight and Italy and the Netherlands have traditionally always been dominant forces in world soccer.

oh my  :uhhhfacepalm: denmark ruined ireland's chances so badly giving them a 1 point lead and then just destroying them.  ireland gave a lot of them away.
penalty, bad control near the goal giving denmark. similar score to 1985 world cup qualifier but instead they score 5-1 in this match.

yup!

As of right now, my only main team is France.

I'll be rooting for Mexico and Iceland as well :D Not sure who else.. but I love the underdogs so, on a match by match basis, I usually go for all of the underdogs, except when it comes to France & the US (the US is pretty much always an underdog tho :) )
