“There’s absolutely no way to protect myself,” said Dr. Faezah A. Bux, an anesthesiologist in central Kentucky who in recent days had to intubate several elderly patients in respiratory distress without the N95 masks and protective eye gear recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “Not only can I not protect myself, I can’t protect my patients.”

rip.. this is absolutely unacceptable..

Vegetables and produce, is that safe to eat raw? Cooking takes away almost all nutrients.

The ones in supermarkets are touched by so many people and just lying right there.....

Also, how long can coronavirus survive in the fridge or freezer? Can't find this info anywhere.

They're safe as long as you wash them with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If you wash them then you don't have to worry about it surviving at all since they will be killed (their outer envelope protein is easily removed with scrubbing.)

It feels nasty though washing vegetables with soap, lol. What about just warm water?

x2 lmao. i don't like the thought of that either.

i've only been eating the ones i grow raw. normally i enjoy eating a green bell or something raw - from the supermarket. ie with cheese/crackers etc. but now i'm only stir fry'n those.

no idea about if it can survive in fridge/freezer. if they post details on that, def link us.

pc!

i use this fruit & vegetable wash from trader joes:

ah nice. never seen that before.

sickening.

https://www.propublica.org/article/senator-dumped-up-to-1-6-million-of-stock-after-reassuring-public-about-coronavirus-preparedness

Quote
Soon after he offered public assurances that the government was ready to battle the coronavirus, the powerful chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr, sold off a significant percentage of his stocks, unloading between $628,000 and $1.72 million of his holdings on Feb. 13 in 33 separate transactions.

As the head of the intelligence committee, Burr, a North Carolina Republican, has access to the government’s most highly classified information about threats to America’s security. His committee was receiving daily coronavirus briefings around this time, according to a Reuters story.

i mean..... this is not the kind of prediction one wants to hear..

Quote
"We project that roughly 56% of our state's population -- 25.5 million people -- will be infected with the virus over an eight-week period," he said in a Wednesday letter to Trump asking him to send the USNS Mercy Hospital Ship to the port of Los Angeles for use through September 1.

Welcome to the Geat Awakening. What's about to happen this summer and fall will change the world's history

boy i'm sure glad this asshole has welcomed me to the geat awakening. this would be funny if anti-vax bullshit weren't so dangerous.

it's like fortune telling or horoscopes: make stuff vague and plausible enough that whatever happens, you can say, "see! i was right all along!"
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

NOT GOOD:

"The number of confirmed #COVID19 cases worldwide has exceeded 200,000. It took over three months to reach the first 100,000 confirmed cases, and only 12 days to reach the next 100,000."

https://twitter.com/Laurie_Garrett/status/1241017444338208768

45 will keep the numbers down by not testing. bleh.
