Not sure if the article is accurate, because I didn't see Senegal play.. However, i've heard this kind of stuff more than enough to believe it.

I've seen similar regarding NFL quarterbacks (especially 15+ years ago) and Venus/Serena in women's tennis etc. The QB thing was pretty nuts if anyone remembers, basically people didn't believe black athletes could excel at QB because their "IQ/smarts" weren't on the level of white QB's. The QB spot was designated whites-only, for the most part.
