Hey andrew,

long time no chat

happy bday btw

quick training question if cool?:)

just then i did 175kg times 5 trap bar deadlift on blocks (about kneeish high) rack DL if you will

Im 6 foot 3

about 88 to 90kg (200lbs ish) and

looking at your PR vid of 315lbs times 5 at 145lbs

i thought i would try this and adjust weights by adding my extra bodyweight 55lbs or so (385lbs times 5) which i did.

I also looked at your bottom leg position too which my trap DL replicates angle wise

and trying to keep spine neutral

SO phew:)

just wondering, my back feels ok now, but how do feel this would compare for vert leap benefit in comparison to your half squats that you do? ( i dont have ready access to a power rack btw)

keep up the great site and work:)

hey andrew

for increasing vert,

u reckon trap bar deads  for say 12 singles or so (MSEM) would be a good substitute?

i dont have a squat rack you see

cheers

keep up the great site!

Hey Andrew,

long time no post but always checking out logs which are great; keep it up!

um

i only have a trap bar at home and was thinking of doing this for ME singles 3 times a week

combined with either hurdle jumps (duct tape bamboo to a tripod which i can adjust works great)

then other 3 days reverse lunges with 40kg/48kg double kettlebells (singles/doubles etc) with a broad jump.

Always try to up the BJ and hurdle jump distance.

Do you think trap deadlifts would work good for this? i dont have a squat rack.

Also how do you think heavy single front squats to parallel would be in terms of benefits compared to the half squats you do?

peace

hey man

thanks for the great reply about a week back re the GHR!

ps

i dont if you have ever done a hip flexor strain but if you have how have you rehabbed it?

mine is type 2 i think with type 3 being the worse.

i can run, stretch, bw squat but at some angles or explosive movements it does hurt.

any tips apart from complete rest? i heard boyle's hip flexor strength movement ie holding it iso for 20 sec helps rehab it

cheers

hey man

im looking to achieve a natural GHR

what do you think is the best method.

on the post below a guy said in 2 weeks he achieved it using a med ball GTG style.

other ideas included ab wheels

do you agree?

and with your 15 min GHR sessions where on the iso do you hold it? half way down ? with the mini reps do you do like a 100 or so with a push off the deck?

great site and articles andrew keep it up
