hey adarq, ever since you started long distance running have you preferred jumping off 1 or 2?

sup man!

didn't jump much during running phase but, definitely preferred jumping off 1.

pc!

yo. oh i see. yea my thoughts here are that running long distance is going to decrease explosiveness, so going off 1 foot may be better because it relies less on pure strength/explosiveness. thanks

cool.

yea dno. you have alot less time to generate force in a slrvj. dlrvj u can spend more time on the ground and generate force. long distance running reduces your RFD. so dlrvj might actually be better, theoretically. however, in practice, i think the slrvj motor pattern is more similar to running, so it gets some transfer. regardless, if you slrvj or dlrvj while running long distance, you can still keep your jumps respectable. i mixed running & max effort slrvj's for a little bit, and my slrvj was going up nicely - with no strength work other than lunges. so, "proper" strength work in addition to running + jumps, should be able to keep jumps up - obviously not peak but enough that keeps things interesting.

running also gives you some "good elastic qualities". just need the strength & rfd work as complementary work, and you can keep jumps up or improve them in the case of less trained people.

most long distance running athletes get in some good speed (sprint/stride work) occasionally to keep from turning into mush.

pc!

sounds good. thx a lot

ran 5 miles and then dunked after. had problems with cramping during dunking, so think i should probably dunk before running.

ran a 24:09 5K today along with doing a bunch of dunks. ran a 5K just barely under 23 minutes a couple of weeks ago, so wondering what's going on. might be because i ran it at a different track, but i assume that all tracks should be 400m all around.

wondering how i'm going to increase my vertical while long distance running though. i'm thinking that my 2 foot jump is going to take more of a hit because of the decreased explosiveness. so i think it'd be a good idea to work more on increasing 1 foot.

checking back in. got into running mainly because of the quarantine. have been running 5k's, 2 miles, 5 miles, and looking to run a 10k for the first time. decided to work on increasing my jump again as of today too. am focusing mostly on 1 foot now, because i'm thinking that i won't be as explosive because of the long distance running that i'll be doing.

checking back in. i play basketball and work on my jumps here and there, but recently started getting into boxing. basketball and jumping is still fun, but am now looking to give it my maximum effort in boxing.

i really like LR right handed, but i just don't jump as high as i do compared to RL. i can get the same effect by going RL left handed, but i always read advice to work on both plants for balance. so probably going to continue doing so

hope to be back at that court sometime in 2019 btw. thx again for letting me know of the area.

jumping off right leg going pretty smoothly yesterday. was dunking 2 handed on 9'. i like 2 step approaches, especially from the right side of the baseline. it's helping me with the coordination.

if the shoes consistently break, why on earth would you buy another pair?

well the second pair i had were free actually cause i returned them lol. but for me, my main reason is that the cushion is thick with little to no heel drop, and that cushion shields the callus in the bottom of my left fore foot from further enlarging due to friction. also because it just is a dope shoe too, like scooby said lol.

kd 9 will pop
I poped  pair already
This is my 2nd pair

i have a 3rd pair (elite) version in standby mode..
This shoes is dope... but very bouncy.

my friend had one that been used indoor also poped...

so... i guess..eventually it will pop no matter what.

oh i see, thanks for letting me know. yea i love the KD as a shoe, but mainly because i have a callus on the bottom of my left foot and the forefoot cushioning is thick enough to not cause friction to it and further enlarge it.

so i guess we both bought 3 pairs, except i've already popped two of them. i think i'm gonna buy 2 more pairs, 1 normal and 1 elite version. after that i'm going to move onto the KD 10. apparently the traction on those are less durable, so it may mean it'll pop even faster than the 9. will have to wait and see though.

just surprised myself going off two feet RL plant. was able to touch 10'2 off 1 step pretty easily, and was using my left hand too.

nice!!

thanks. yea, thinking i should probably concentrate on my RL plant now. but at the same time i still wanna work hard on my 1 foot.

hello, was just wondering if the bubble on your KD 9's ever pop? mine did twice, and now i just bought my third pair. it was the left shoe both times, i'm guessing because of planting right-left i push off the left foot and there's more friction.

also nice work on rim 3. i liked the lowest rim(rim 1?) the most though because it was of course easiest to dunk on and it was the only rim that could snap back lol.
