This is a stupid exercise.

It is only a stupid exercise if he is going to get hurt, or it isn't going to meet his training goals. He likes to do it, he feels it is very safe, and from my discussions with him and the nature of his sport, it would appear that, while unconventional, it is helping him develop his full body power.

Maybe he could do a regular snatch but then that does require a bit more balance and ROM, and in fairness, he has no need what so ever to hold a weight overhead.

Stupid? No. Unconventional? Yes.

That exercise sucks, and has no purpose. This is even more pathetic considering that you call yourself a 'coach'.
You should go check out the 'level 7' exercises if you're into doing stupid shit.

Seems like it could be a decent conditioning exercise. I remember Bruce Lee used to do barbell pushes as well.

Doing nothing, probably around 2220-2590 kcal(12-14 kcal/lb).
14-16x kcal/lb moderately active(3-4x/wk)
16-18x kcal/lb very active(5-7x/wk)
This is all calculations for maintenace at 185#, so just do some reverse engineering for where you are at.

If that's a part of the contract this guy signed then he should have honoured it. Obviously he didn't and now he's facing the consequences of it. That's how contracts work guys.

Looking forward to it.

I've only started listening to it in the past 1-2 years. I find it easy to dance to.
Last year, I went to the Olympics in Vancouver, and went to a Paul Oakenfold concert, that was a really good time.
I've read that there's a ton of different sub-genres of electronic music, so I was trying to figure out what the stuff I'm listening to would be labelled as, so I can find more music that I'll enjoy listening to. I think it's prog, house, or trance, if this is incorrect feel free to educate me.
