2013/2014 Rankings Thread

Attention gentlemen*,

It has become increasingly clear to me that this board is suffering a severe lack of testosterone. I blame this on solely on Raptor and his general pussy-ness lately (see: I want to front squat but I can't). However, every true man knows that the best way to jack up those testosterone levels is to get into the gym, track or court and push yourself to levels you never thought possible! Get those PRs, post them here, and literally see your balls swell like ripened tomatoes as other puny child-men gasp in awe and women are transformed into Miley Cyrus at the VMAs, but hotter and less tongue action.

Rules (adapted from the old Nightfly thread):

-Must be official: preferably video, list of times off website is acceptable in most cases if it's clear that it's you and you aren't known as a bullshitter (other people might have different views on this)

- For relative strength, bodyweight needs to be supplied as well, either pic or vid

- If sprints are hand-timed (not self-hand timed, but hand-timed by a reliable third-party), I'd be happy to simply convert them using the old 0.24 for <300m, 0.14 for >300m. Discuss.

- For vertical jumps, should ideally be against a measured ring if outdoors (indoor as well if there's doubt about whether it's legit), jumps against non-measured rings should still be put up though, we have vag the human vertec on hand if needed!

- The old thread used nothing higher than 5RM to estimate 1RM. I can see the rationale behind this but I also think this should be up for discussion. (Use adarq's built-in 1RM calc or this calc: http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax.html)

* I will edit this in the rare event that this site gets more female athletes again

Awesome. One question...squat=ATG or breaking hip crease (PL 'style')? Not that I lift heavy enough to matter lol!

BTW, excellent writing style, very motivational! :)

below parallel has generally been the standard on here. when you start getting into ATG you get into arguments about what that actually means. no one on here back squats as deep as KF, so if we're using ATG as the standard then would only he get to be on the list, because compared to him none of us squat ATG?

below parallel, i.e., hip crease below knee, is easier to tell.

Thats what I figured.  If I even thought about going as deep as KF squats...my ankles would never work again.

It's good to know my structural problems are actually reasons for people to get threads like this going, and point at me showing "how much of a pussy I am" for not being able to do front squats!

Great! You pussies are still not being able to dunk yet?

Cool thread.  Agree with most of the rules.   Also agree with LBSS that this type of thread gets people excited to train.  I have been recovering after my first fully healthy season in a long time and essentially detraining before a new season begins in late October.  This thread almost makes me want to go train again.... but instead I'll keep sitting around, getting fat and healthy... but I will start the new season with renewed vigor thanks to this thread.

A few suggestions.  Let's keep them to recent PRs.  Some of us older guys may have hit better PRs years ago but it's disheartening to an extent to compare yourself to an older version of yourself....

Additionally, proof from some website is great but really from this moment going forward video is what we need!  It's great that Mutumbo can list his times from some website but the fact is he has no track record of lying and I believe him already; proof that he isn't lying won't motivate me to train harder.... but what will motivate me is watching a video of him flying around the turn and running a 22.3 and unseeding my time as best of the year....  I'll try and stick to this.  I have most of my races on video [ And some have fully auto clocks in them and I will make it a point to get new performances on video, the only ones I dont expect to challenge in the near future might be bench press and and snatch... my numbers are not great in those anyway so you might have to take my word for it].    Finally, since more is always better let's add in some more challenges.  For those that don't necessarily compete in track it's good to have a measure of fitness and the short races are challenging to compare with handtimes as we have been over many times.  I have USC's most recent tryout challenges [ the tests they make walk-ons do ] so adding those will give us a few more things to motivate ourselves in.  Also, I am pretty out of shape and only tried them each about once so I have marks I can hopefully beat in the future.  I'll bold the new additions.

Anyway, here are my recent PR's.  I've posted videos already of most of these, but I can repost if necessary.  Times with two decimal points are official, others are handtimes.

Back squat: 405  @ 200  (no video but the front squat is on video and recently posted and the ratio isn't much of a leap for believablity)
Front Squat: 365  @ 200
Deadlift:  550 @ 200  (somewhere taped)
RDL:        315 x 8 @ 200
Bench Press:  300 @ 210
Power Clean:  265x5        @ 200
Power Snatch: 215 @ 200

Sprints:

40y: 4.4 ht
60m: 6.86
100m: 10.81
200m: 22.66
400m: 50.94 , 49.5 split (hand time)
800m: 216.5 ht
45 second run:  347 meters
4x200 @ 2 mins: recovery: 26+27+28+26 = 1:47
3x300 @ 2 mins recovery:  44+48+46 = 2:18

Jumps:

Standing Vertical: 35 inch
Running Vertical 2 foot:    38 inch
Running Vertical 1 foot:    36 inch
Broad Jump:                        10'2
Reactive Broad Jump x 5: 52 feet
Standing Triple Jump:       28.5 feet

Overhead Backward Shot Toss (16lbs): 52 feet.

Recent Clipping From Best 60m of late:

Goddamn they are some good numbers TOdday. To paraphrase an ex-member, that's a pretty fucking legit athlete right there!

I agree about performances being recent, the idea was for this to be performances from this year extending into next year (hence the title), so anything pre-2013 probably shouldn't be up here (that's why I haven't put any of my 2012 PR jumps up). Also, yes, I'm happy enough with times from a website if it's a respected member and there's some evidence from the site that it's them based on what they've posted before etc. But a video is better of course. I've seen most of your vids as well so no worries.

Cool idea with the other events you've posted. Given that this is meant to foster a bit of competitive spirit, it's good to have some different things like 4x200m for time for other people to aim for outside of the traditional stuff. I'll put them all in.

Thanks a lot.  I been at it off and on for a looooong time.   Transitioning to becoming a pretty fucking legit coach right here!

Where are all other numbers?  KF, yourself, Raptor, etc.  All have pretty decent squats...  Avisheks bounds might put mine to shame as well.  Let's get some competition.

And get a damn shotput you guys.   Listen to Dan Pfaff and do the best power exercise for sprinting that exists.

Well...

LIFTS
Low bar back squat: 160 kg @ 85 kg BW
High bar back squat: 140 kg @ 81 kg BW
Deadlift:  182.5 kg @ ~85 kg BW (very back driven deadlift)
Bench Press:  75 kg @ ~85 kg BW (never tried over this, it's probably 80)
Hang Power Clean:  87.5 kg @ 86 kg BW
Hang Power Snatch: 55 kg @ 88 kg BW

SPRINTS

50m back years ago: 5.9s hand timed, but I HIGHLY doubt it. The most usual result for me is 6.1 - 6.2s
30m : 3.8s but I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt it. Most consistent result is ~4.1s

JUMPS:

Standing Vertical: 27 inch
Running Vertical 2 foot: ~30 inch
Running Vertical 1 foot: ~34 but can get as high as 36-37
Broad Jump: A pathetic 2.62m, most consistently I'm at 2.50m
Reactive Broad Jump x 4: 10.80m
