What do you guys think about Gray Cook and Lee Burton's functional movement screens?

Do you think people who score poorly on the 7 tests can still be explosive athletes? Does getting a 1 (out of 3) on the overhead squat test suggest that an individual should stop squatting?

Do you think the FMS is a good indicator of an individual's susceptibility to a training injury?

Injury, Prehab, & Rehab talk for the brittlebros / Dorsal foot pain
« on: December 08, 2010, 01:50:51 pm »
I've been having pretty bad dorsal foot pain (left foot) for the past week or so. The pain only comes when I wear shoes; the only shoes I have are 3 pairs of Nike Frees; one of the pairs has "Superfeet" (orange colored) insoles, and the others do not have any inserted insoles. Do you guys have suggestions of rehab exercises or shoe/insole recommendations?

Also, it's pretty important for me that I get a chance to walk multiple miles regularly because I'm only able to shit right after a long walk accompanied by coffee.

adarq's comments about her low release were spot on...damn seems like she's a lot more dedicated to training than Alex...would be interesting to have her on the forum and be morphed into an anti-scammer...the title is presumptious though

Her bball training partner seems pretty cool...and has decent hops
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UKdSeejPNk" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UKdSeejPNk</a>

But damn...it's a shame that a dedicated athlete like her has a bro who's a scammer...

Moreover, if you look at the way the dude credits the artists for developing the music at the end of the vid...it's 180 degrees from the way Alex Maroko takes credit for other ppl's work (his "ground-breaking" programs exploit principles pretty much everyone who reads any vert/speed shit knows about)

Is it me, or does this rim totally NOT look 10'5'' as claimed in the vid? His vert really doesn't look that impressive. Hopefully, he's actually from Ghana and all the other stuff in the video is true...

Yesterday I finally recorded four pieces that I'd been meaning to record for a while; 2 Chopin works and 2 Rachmaninoff works...here goes:

Chopin Nocturne no.13, op.48 no.1
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d73bTpOol10" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d73bTpOol10</a>

Chopin Ballade no.3, op.47
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l9-tNz9bcs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l9-tNz9bcs</a>

Rachmaninoff Prelude op.23 no.4
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRdSZ2zcY1I" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRdSZ2zcY1I</a>

Rachmaninoff Elegie op.3 no.1
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Zdb5KBxzPk" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Zdb5KBxzPk</a>
I recorded the last piece a couple years ago, but I think this recording is a bit better; the difference is that earlier I was more hesitant to drive through the mixed rhythm phrases.

Unfortunately, I only have an audio and still pics...but in order to provide "proof" that I'm actually the one in the vid, I've included a "review" http://www.cvnc.org/reviews/2004/may/RSOFuture.html from the classical voice of nc...I'm mentioned briefly in the 3rd to last paragraph; they misspell my name as Sreeniker Ram instead of Sreeniket Ram, lol...

Hey guys,
I've been experiencing some right lateral knee clicking since last night. I rolled the heck out of my IT band, stretched my piriformis (dunno if that's relevant to the problem at hand) and iced my right lateral knee and the discomfort isn't really subsiding. I had a lateral meniscus tear diagnosed  via an MRI in 2007 (not sure if I tore it then or earlier) and had a PLC reconstruction operation following the diagnosis and have linering scar tissue, which may be causing or aggravating the "problem." Any suggestions?

Hey guys, during my superset of mountain climbers/groiners/burpees on the rug, I either earned the prize of a skin peel or a blister on the plantar surface of my left foot, but I don't know how to tell which. Could any of you offer me insight into distinguishing? Also, how does one treat skin peels and blisters? I'm asking b/c I plan to do some shooting/ball handling this evening.

Peace everyone

Here's the Shin Splint Rehab Protocol from DieselCrew: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdTmh5yKdR8

What do you guys think about the appropriateness of its use as a preventative measure for someone who doesn't have shin splints, but who's getting back into higher impact training? When/how frequent would you do it?
