I would like to say goodbye to everybody. I wish you all to have a better life than what I had. It should be easy. :)

I used to see the same sort social awkward people in my programming class, they are in groups or alone. But are very smart.
It becomes awkward when people in the class are split into teams and therefore are forced into communicating and have to come out of their comfort zone.

That is the biggest hurdle for socially awkward people especially me, you have to go out of your comfort zone to be able to get something you want to achieve, like to stop being shy for example, and in my experience people who dont like to come out of their comfort zone, dont get far, so efforts have to be made. But it is hard.

It's not really about confort, for me it's about authenticity. I won't small talk. If I'm not interested in the subject, I won't participate. And so on. I hate being fake and I won't be. That's all. Give me an interesting subject and we'll talk all day long, no problems.

Plus, the thing where you go to a group and they all talk in between each other because they know each other for quite a while and everybody is ignoring you, and you have to pretend to be interested in their subjects, is not my cup of tea. To get ignored when you talk and they turn around and pretend you're not there, that's not great either.

So I'll never subject myself to that shit.

In fact, since this was my last day there, I told a few of them exactly this.

Of course I salute, but she (the chief of department) doesn't salute back. That's a problem.

And no, I won't play "by the rules". Other people dress like crazy, have mo-hawks with green and pink hair, tattoos, drink, smoke, have all kinds of absurd expectations as workers and so on, and you will say "that's their personality, they're free to express themselves".

Well guess what? This is MY personality and I should have every right as them to express it. I don't want social gatherings, I won't participate in them. How about you leave me alone and accept it, I'm not bothering you in any way. I don't like 4-5 people talking all at once, I won't participate in that. How about you acknowledge that and you leave me alone. And so on and so forth.

It's not hard to understand. I like dialogues. I don't like many people talking at the same time. You shouldn't be in a position to tell me how to act personality-wise, EVER. It's not your place to do it, either as an employer or a random guy. You don't see me going around trying to impose my own behaviors on other people - they're free to get in a stampede to eat some cookies for someone's birthday all day long, if they want. I'm not interested in that crap.

This is similar to "accept our traditions". No, I won't, if they don't make sense to me. Deal with it. I'm prepared to deal with it by losing my job, if it comes to that.

Mate you're spot on. I have no right to tell you how to behave. Just offering my opinion so take it or leave it. I'm an introvert by nature but I talk to people for a living. Go figure.

I was actually making a general statement there, I wasn't talking specifically about you. I meant "nobody has the right", not you specifically.

I absolutely agree with that. They are, at the same time, very, very smart. And when you get to actually talk to them, I've rarely had issues with anybody, we could talk about everything all day long.

I totally want to talk to smart people. Usually, these kinds of people that you describe don't get the chance to talk to too many people anyway, because of their personality, so when you do talk to them, they enjoy it (especially about interesting topics).

What I hate is talking about idiotic stuff (from my perspective) like how her baby did yesterday, if someone danced on "Dancing with the stars" well and shit like that. That's what bothers me, not the talking itself. Give me an interesting topic and you'll certainly have an interesting conversation, with no bullshit in it either.

I severely DISAGREE with the bullshit that women spew out their mouths. And if I disagree, I will say exactly that.
