Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / Re: 3x8 or 3x5?

Have you ever done MUCH higher volume training? Honestly, I got amazing size and strength gains in my hamstrings and back doing 6x6 and 8x6 for straight sets on RDL's. The only issue is: It's boring, and you need balls to do this once the work weights get pretty heavy. It also made me sore for very long.

bw = 148.4 <-- WUT "CHYEA" (ssr7 level chyea)
soreness = glutes (still damn sore wtf)
aches/injuries = left ankle a little, in my old deltoid ligament sprain (pinched a few times today then felt fine when i was training), left achilles a little, left calf a little, back a little
fatigue = massive

LOL. You are a beat up mother.... Holy shit you're light though. Nice. On that overlay btw, you are so high. The reason it's so ridiculous to me is also because you're plantarflexed and it still looks like you're so high. Keep it up man. I predict big things in the coming fortnight..

Yea man same here. I only enjoy the intense shit if I'm in a club or something, otherwise not a fan. Another awesome, more chilled dubstep song is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agFDh4Fr_Sk

The latter half of the song is actually only really dubstep. But it's way less aggressive than that other shit.

Ha thanks man, already did it. I'm just curious as to the rest of the song because we might be missing a couple minutes of gold :) I posted on a dubstepforum asking as well and no replies. Bastards haha.

I've played bass, acoustic and electric guitar since I was 15-16. Written some material over the years but lacked the ability to come up with vocals, or record them properly. I can play the intro of ONE song on the keyboard as well haha - Sigur Ros - Saeglopur.

Thanks, sorry for being slack updating my journal. I'm still training like hell.

Ok that video was sick. Nice editing tricks. Made it feel like I was watching ESPN coverage or something. 1:06-1:09 is a fucken ridiculous dunk.

squats
135x1-wow no fish oil for a week making knee stiff.

interesting.. have you noticed that type of reaction with/without fish oil many times?

peace

Hmmm yea I'm interested in this. I used to take Carlson's liquid fish oil which meant I was getting easily 25-40 grams a day. I don't remember having joint pain then but that was in a younger training age, so strength and stuff was lower. I did play shitloads of ball at the time though and no pain. Hmmmm, come to think of it, we should all take a lot of fish oil.

uh, level-7'd again.. nothing major but just scared the shit out of me.. so im at the basketball court, doing some jumps, and my 'predator' soundtrack song comes on.. then out of nowhere i hear this HUGE noise and then i see some huge thing falling out of the sky, turned out to be a like ~10 foot palm tree thing falling off a palm tree.. dno, just crazy timing considering the predator song haha.. looked like predator falling out of a tree @ 2am.

level-7.

Lol, that feeling is awesome though. Especially when it happens without you being in any real danger.

soreness = left soleus (horrible, from the midfoot runs), both hamstrings a little

When you're running like a mile mid-foot, does it end up being like a strength endurance sort of burn in the calfs? Sorta like the burn in the legs when doing ultra-rep lunges?

Also, I've been doing some 'strength' SLVJ's. Like standing at the free-throw line and doing only my penultimate step into a maximal SLJ, trying to touch rim (scraping it on most attempts). Sounds similar to what you've done in this workout. Eddie's jumps look like he has more bend in the knee than Holm for example, and I wanna get a similar sort of single leg pop. Hope it works out for us!

Keep it up.

Seriously, how epic did have to make the video? That is sick. Just got back from clubbing in Auckland on the weekend. Got my first real taste of a dubstep club. It was insane. Then I get back and you've made this video. Good shit man, nice jumping too.

bw = 155

Nice. You're maintaining that weight well now. This was your goal weight wasn't it?

Fucken pricks man. I'm nearly sweating I'm so angry on your behalf. They must be fucken bored going out there and embarrassing themselves, abusing authority, trying to bait you into an assault. File the shit out of that complaint. I guess if there's one thing we can take from this, it's that things could have been far worse. Moving on my man.

its gonna hurt real bad the first few times u do it but i pretty much put all my weight on it now after a week

Yeah same here, I just pushed through it the first few times and set a goal of doing like 20 back and forth rolls on the IT band. After a few times it was fine. I do a side bridge on my IT band with a 4"  PVC haha.
