This movie "eight below" came on.. saw that it had something to do with dogs, so left it on. It's actually decent. These dogs are amazing "actors".

As for sci-fi, one of my all time favorites is:

Moon was a pretty depressing but solid movie.....

Source code was a bit weak i think....

ex machina was ok.....

that dream movie was awesome with leanardo dicario .... forgot its name where

arrival was ok..... could have made the 1st half a bit shorter and the 2nd half stretched out longer.....

avatar seemed weaker and weaker as time went on.....

ahhhh Inception (the one with Leonardo).

great movie, but perhaps even greater sound track. Hans Zimmer absolutely destroyed that sound track.

Time.

inception is a good plane movie. i've never seen solaris, throwing it on the list now. looks tight.

the best sci-fi movie experience of my life is unquestionably watching 2001: a space odyssey in a restored 70mm print in the beautiful old movie theater where i had my first real job, in high school. they had to expand the screen to show it. if you ever have a chance to watch 2001 in a theater, do it. it's awesome. don't even care what you think of the movie as a movie, the visuals and sound are just incredible.

Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

- Avishek

sunday: long very easy run 80+ mins @ 5:40+ (14+ km)
monday: strength/cross training
tuesday: easy run 60+ mins @ 5:20-5:30 (11+ km)
wednesday: fartlek (mostly easy pace with mix of strides, hills, long tempo) 45 mins (8+ km)
thursday: easy run 60+ mins @ 5:20-5:30 (11+ km), strength/cross-training
friday: rest
saturday: short tempo 6-8x500 @ sub-4:00 (7 km)

strength would be:
- hops 2x10
- box jumps or ME SVJ 2x5
- squats 3x6-8 or weighted BSS/lunges 3x10/leg
- RDL/hypers 2x10-12 or SLRDL 2x10-12/leg
- upper push myo-reps or sets to technical failure
- upper pull myo-reps or sets to technical failure
- leg raises, holds, pallof presses

Kubrick++

I've never seen a Kubrick film in a theatre... That would probably amplify the experience manyfold. Next level perspective.

LBSS , see the old Solaris ( 1976 ) not the 2002 version ( which is still good btw, so imagine the far better original ).
Other than that i agree 2001 is the best one, if one can name 'best' a movie between masterpieces.
Since we got into the classics : Brazil. Blade runner.  Children of men. Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind. last but not least : Metropolis ( 1927!!!!!!! ).
Bonus track : Cloud Atlas. It's a miss, the result did not blend/cook so well. But i totally agree with a critic i read back then , "one of the most ambitious films ever made". Even as a miss it is still very good and definitely a visual and sentimental treat. If it blended well, it would go in the GOAT/classics easy.

i thought inception was great.... it was the full package.... creativity, plot, visuals, acting, etc.....

regarding others..... is '2001: odyssey ' watchable in terms of visuals? and 'solaris'? cause they are over 30 years old now.... kind of annoying watching movies that have good plot/drama shot with a potato....

i fell asleep during 'cloud atlas' and 'crash'..... still not sure what happened totally in those or understand them.....

some more movies i like, 5 stars: interstellar, batman 1,2,3 (1 is the best imo but 2, 3 had a lot more action).....

4 star: some of the xmen series were nice simply how they made the visuals and translated them from the comic, life of pi, guardian of galaxy, kill bill 2 if ur into quentin tarantino stuff.....

minority report was solid too.... dawn of planet of the apes and rise of planet of the apes (2011, 2014) solid

saw these two tonight:

Pride and Glory:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482572/

surprisingly ruthless.. some crazy dirty cop stuff going on. really good movie.

The Take

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2368619/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Enjoyable.. some of the pickpocket scenes are really cool, especially the one in the bar midway through the movie. Decent story too - lots of "deception going on" at every level (from pick pocketing to terrorism).

The fight scenes really sucked though. They could have done so much better by making them more realistic.. This would have raised the movie up another notch.
