Im rooting for wales. I like portugal but I would like wales to win.
and I want france to beat germany, they have been very good throughout.

this is possibly the "real championship match". should be tough for each of them. I hope France wins (via my french roots), but I also think they will win regardless.. they have been impressive this tournament.

also glad to see Ronaldo in the finals.

man he looked like the Lochness monster today on that header/goal he made.

Really pulling for an all-Williams final. Probably the last time we'll ever see it! It's unbelievable how long Venus and Serena have dominated the women's game. Others have come and gone but the Williams sisters -- Serena in particular, the goddess that she is -- remain. They've both been pros for more than 20 years! That's fucking insane!

Also I want Federer to win again.

ya i've been watching too. Hoping for Serena vs Venus as well.. just epic. I expect it from Serena, but not from Venus (at this stage in her career, lots of ups & downs).

Man o man, Federer EPIC come back today vs Cilic.. unreal.. He was DEAD, multiple match points, down two sets.. and then he pulls out a historic come back.

Was hoping Tsonga could beat Murray today.. but he blew it in that first set tie breaker. ;/

This is kinda cool. Would be fitting to see him go home.

http://www.espn.com.au/nba/story/_/id/16840869/chicago-bulls-eyeing-dwyane-wade-seek-jose-calderon-trade

ya i'm happy for him, and sad (for him and for the heat) at the same time. At this point in his career, he should have been a Heat lifer.. they should have paid that man his moniez.

heat dropped the ball.

going to be exciting to see him in Chicago.. i'll definitely be watching.

Track & Field / Re: olympic trials
« on: July 06, 2016, 11:41:20 am »
Very interesting to see different countries criteria and the national trials, the UK trials were OK but they seem to struggle, but the US trials was on another level, they really are passionate about their athletes and push for them unlike in the UK. The criteria to qualify in USA was sub 10 seconds? correct me if im wrong. Justin gatlin won a good time. Jamaica trials was intense also, unfortunately for bolt's injury he couldn't compete, but yohan blake is not at the level to threaten bolt but gatlin definitely is getting back to his old self.

i've only seen the US trials but ya they are intense. Gatlin basically owns the "old farts sprinting thread". Man he's flying. Crazy to think he won gold in 2004 and is about to challenge everyone again in 2016. For a young guy, Bromell is impressive too.

I really hope Bolt is healthy come August.

Kim Collins is injured now and probably wouldn't have got to go to the Olympics due to political reasons, but he ran a PB of 9.93 at 40 years of age, which is just mindblowing.

http://www.athleticsweekly.com/featured/kim-collins-smashes-masters-wr-with-9-93-100m-global-update-43785/

"Kim Collins runs 9.93 PB and masters WR

Ageless wonder Kim Collins ran a PB and St. Kitts and Nevis record of 9.93 (+1.9) at a meeting in Bottrop, Germany, to become the first 40-year-old to go sub-10 seconds for 100m.

The 2003 world champion, who ran his previous PB of 9.96 in London aged 38, beat USA’s Joe Morris with a 10.15 PB and Britain’s Adam Gemili with a 10.19 season opener".

damn that is absolutely amazing. :wowthatwasnutswtf:

The head honcho here at work just said "How's Tim today?"

I've been here since February and nobody knows my name yet so I responded with a awkward pretty good because I was still processing what just happened.

whoa. :uhhhfacepalm: office space level shit.

the one-step PR is at 0:21. dunk attempts start at 2:00. huge thanks to acole for the patience -- great training with you today man!

edited it wrong, cut out a couple of decent attempts and included a couple of bad ones. oh well, can't be bothered to re-edit it. the dodgeball one i did just out of frustration.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_baJ395taA

:wowthatwasnutswtf: @ the 1-step PR at 0:21, that was a very nasty jump.

edit: man you could have landed a damn dunk off that 1-step heh. nasty.

also, 2:44 would have been a really nasty make.. had you been there 0.1s earlier or acole thrown it 0.1s later, that would have gone down very hard. I really wanted to see that one go down.

Looks like you guys had fun.

ya for sure.

All good mate! Never mind a hijack.

Trained with LBSS at his gym in DC as he mentioned in his journal. Really good session. Insanely jealous of his facilities as I was of T0ddday's at USC (see discussion above). I just practiced my 1-step DLRVJs in between throwing lobs. So bummed I couldn't get one for him! Next time. Real-life LBSS is also a champ, got me into a nice gym I never would have known about and shouted me a beer later that night after the Independence Day fireworks. Cheers mate! Will return the favour one day I hope :lololol:

- paused speed squat 100kg x 5,5

- DB OHP 40kgs 3x8

- pull up x 10,10,9.5,3

- MB OH toss x 5

awesome!!!!

too bad on the lobs tho damn.

i'd personally avoid fighting through fatigue on deadlifts. imho, i'd drop the weight and never let form stray anywhere away from perfect. then like you said, i'd focus on RDL more.

deadlifting off blocks is also a possibility.. if you want to go heavier but start off with/maintain better form on the initial portion of the pull. we're all built differently so why do we all have to pull deadlifts off the floor with standard sized plates? makes no sense imho.. if someone adds pulls from blocks though, they definitely need to progress slow, even if they feel they can go alot heavier right from the start.. same kind of ideology as adding in half squat.

Rotator cuff is only slightly better after rest. I have symptoms of both a labral tear and impingement. Uh oh.

eek :/

hell yes ^^^

well.. been a very long time since i posted some jump pics. :ninja:

those were jumps ~4 & 5.. so, happy about it. that's ~10'7 or so.. so ~31" L-SLRVJ.

didn't max out L-SLRVJ because I tried to land some dunks.. did about 6 jumps before starting dunk attempts. fail though. my ball doesn't bounce too high so my traditional ball-over-rim-lob was very difficult and hard to time.. this ball is pretty flat regardless, I haven't been able to get it to bounce good. Might check out some new bballs tomorrow.

regardless.. need lots of work to do to get back up there.

(actual journal later, or tomorrow)
