crazy how my weight dropped so fast.. 155 yesterday, 150 today.. havnt been 150 since early may.. 150 right now, prolly be < 150 tomorrow when i wakeup.

I wonder how and if your training will change going for a higher SLVJ

Would you say the need for specificity will increase? More lunges/BSSs/one-leg deadlifts or just continue with half squats?

For example, I was thinking about your LTMP thing but I was thinking about using the lunge or BSS instead of the half squat daily for more one-leg specificity...

not much really.. i have a problem with unilaterals because of my sacral spine issue..

in june i plan on backing off from daily squatting, so, im going to be hitting plate swings/calves/reactive work more.. + more conditioning.. and more SLRVJ max work.. that alone will have me getting up pretty good on slrvj.. i plan on squatting every other day or every 4th day.. definitely not every day.

i havn't eaten since afternoon.. and im not hungry.. man my body is freaked the fuck out.. so fucking odd..

pity about the comp man, kill it next year! mayb after u start practising with those low lobs u could learn some tricks, then next year it'll be different.

i mean, if doing what ur doing now, one and 2 handers, gets u into top 4, once u get some tricks down u'd be killing it.

ya i hope they do it again in miami next year.. i bet they will, the crowd/atmosphere was very nice.

if i'm not 100x better by next sprite showdown then.... lol








I remember when I saw Shal jumping off one leg - it definitely clicked something in my mind in terms of how much more speed I can use and power. If this guy can do it, I can do it too! And I could feel it inside that I could do it, just not at this strength level. But I could feel it - I usually don't feel it when I know I can't do it, but in that case, I knew I could jump like that.

Once you witness real jumpers first person, you kind of start to realize it's possible for you too.

ya well the biggest thing i noticed was, myree/airdogg are built like tanks, i'm built more like werm.. i do seem to have gained some good SLRVJ ability without directly training it max effort, it all makes sense.. my half squatting/warmup layups was enough to help build my single leg, time to max it.

ya well mentally i was fine.. my double leg was jello today too, but my single was crazy... i think it's just a matter maximizing my strengths, ie, half squatting helps me a ton, ive optimized it from deep to half & got better gains.. i think it's time to optimize my jumping from double to single..

nah i have the strength to jump off one leg.. it always scares me when my achilles achesthough, so i stop training it.. but i need to progress slowly and overcome that..

ill take footage off my caam from today, later, i had some really good jumps off single leg pretty sure of it.. a few really hard throw downs that flew out crazy..

thanks so much man.. trained SLRVJ today, so far, looks crazy promising.. it looked promising last month after i trained it for 1 session also..... btu next day my achilles was aching so i stopped, because that scared me for ~3 days or so and wrecked my dunking.. now i can phase this stuff in properly, should be good.

Andrew, man, it's hard to describe how all of this feels to me...I'm really happy for you man, really. Gotta be proud of all of this man, no matter what the outcome was. That first dunk was DA SHIT. And next time you'll get into that final round bro. And I agree with all the other guys here: that pic=LEGENDARY!


thanks soooooo much man.. ya, im still proud.. im glad that, even when my legs are toast, i can still land dunks.. thats pretty cool.. it used to be that i'd have to try so hard just to land one dunk, and that was feeling great.. now when im feeling great, i land tns of dunks.. regardless it was fun, i loved being there..

the cool thing about all of this is, when i do contests in the future, you better believe it'll make this sprite footage look like crap.. that experience opened my eyes to alot of things that I already have been trying to fix: conditioning/bodyweight/single leg... ill be going into the next contest in 100x better shape, lighter, and with SLRVJ ability.

hopefully by next sprite I can shut it down.

thanks alot man.. shoulda got final four though fo sure, even jumping like complete shit.. :/ if i had just made one hard one hander on round 2B, final four guaranteed.. sogay.

on that note, im going to focus on SLRVJ bigtime now...

here's the crayz annoying fucking thing... im warming up early, doing REALLY LIGHT jumps off one leg, layups, ez touching rim.. then i do some light two leg jumps and dont even get rim.. so somehow my slrvj yet again, was fine while my dlrvj was fried.. i thin kseeing werm in person (and myree/airdogg) might have clicked something in my head.. myree/airdogg are freaking monsters when they plant.. i def seem to have some untapped slrvj ability right now, given that SLRVJ dunk in may... im going to focus on it during june.. tricks off two and slrvj max's.. thts the plan after how today went... if slrvj goes up good then of course eventually tricks off slrvj.

i basically PR'd my SLRVJ relaxed jumps today..... yet DLRVJ was TOAST.. i felt crazy reactive on my pogos, yet my dlrvj felt like mush..  dno just completely haywire today, bugging me more now than earlier but, eye opening nonetheless..

only thing im really bothered about is how jello'ish i felt.... but with those relaxed slrvj layups, i might be able to overcome that every time.. in may, that slrvj dunk came after my DLRVJ was completely toast.. major dropoff........

ok forget about me, werm & myree are absolute gods.. they basically shut down miami.

as for me, had some nice dunks during warmups.. during competition, first round legs absolutely jello, landed a weak dunk, missed for 2nd part of round 1.. made it to second round.. had to try and get my legs back.. drank a damn sprite.. landed a real nice two hander.. missed my second dunk of round 2, legs jello again.. had a really hard throwdown just couldnt make shit... during warmup i made a real nice two hander, i think someone was in front of cam tho.. i think i got my real hard one hander on vid tho... i trolled everyone in my last dunk of round 2, shit was hilarious, u'll see.. lmfao.

anyway, was crazy fun.. i got some INSANE footage.. like godly

oh and that rim was 10' for sure.. people were complaining about it, dunkers etc.. werm didnt though, or myree.. werm was like "i'd rather dunk on this".. people thought it was higher than 10' lmao.. it kinda felt like it was but it was probably exactly 10'.

anyway werm shut it down, most amazing shit ive ever seen, him and myree..

myree is freaking JACKED.



edit #2: if i would have made my one hander in 2nd dunk of round 2, woulda been final four, fml.. :F



edit: oh ya, i put down caveman as my nickname but the host must have not gotten it, he called me "andrew".. so eventually LOS nicknamed me "castaway" while i was dunking lmao.

thanks so much man, june going to be better though.. time to really dedicate to low lobs which will give me much more possibility to pull off crazy dunks.. gonna dunk less too, probably every other day instead of every day like i did in may.. going to spend that other day (with no dunking) with just doing bball conditioning work nice and relaxed... more 20 rep squats too, prolly squat on dunk days, not every day like i did in may..

basically june is a deload of sort but i should still be improving my hops.. may was brutal.
