I have reported several.

I'll have to check up on this 50inchvert guy.

I don't mind them promoting.. of course but when it damages reputation... it's no good.

are you kidding me?! that shit has been around for the past 2-3 years now, on most TFB vids, a lot of testimonials, hecka stuff
and you don't know about it?

doesn't make sense

Well it takes a while to take any action...

In the meantime, you can watch your bank account grow. :personal-record:

The only thing I see wrong with the run up is that you stay too tall. Then the last say 2-3 steps are very good. But you don't seem to benefit from all of the steps before at all... you don't take in energy from those to release it in the plant.

I have a feeling you'd jump as high just with a three step approach.

You still plant much better than me off two feet, great compression.

Very very quick jump

Raptor, about the hip bend, I think it is in part due to genetics/limb structure. If you lok at the way cskin walks, his legs are slightly pointed outwards, meaning he has a glute preference. People with straighter legs, or legs pointed inwards may use the deeper quad bend more. Examples include Guy dupuy, maybe adarqui, AUT, myself.. it's hard for me to throw my legs out to much actually

I'm not sure about that. I still think Adarqui could get higher with more posterior chain, he's currently destroying his knees, (they look to be under extreme tension when he jumps judging by their position) in my opinion because of this high dependence on quads and their usage in jumping. To me, that's sub-optimal biomechanics. I know I'm on an island while saying what I'm about to say, but I don't really think it depends that much on the individual.

Yes, it does depend on the individual, but I think more in strength than in structure. I think in terms in structure the body will alter the jump stance (feet wider apart) and stuff like that, rather than muscle involvement. Muscle involvement depends on strength IMO.

What I would REALLY like is to get in touch again with Joel Smith and make him join this forum.

x2

Joel wrote an awesome article for me at VerticalJumping.com

Smart guy. Nice chap too.

We were talking all kind of ideas over youtube messaging... haven't talked to him in a long time though.

I like to get my women pinned. Too bad I ain't got any.

I was jumping a lot (daily) maximally and didn't have a problem when I was younger (16-18 years old). Very light at that time, ~67 kg (147 lbs) in bodyweight, so not a lot of damage on the bones and joints I guess. It really really helped ingrain my movement efficiency off one leg... if I didn't have that now I'd probably be soooo much worse than I am.

How can you get pinned with 135 lbs?

That makes me think of construction workers and their muscles. They basically lift things every day, have a pretty big "rest" time in between "reps" and they are BIG.

besides the fact that they get in significant isometric, concentric, and eccentric training per day, their diet is usually very adequate in calories, as many of them drink a good amount of beer and eat a good amount of "junk". There's not many "vege" construction workers, or ectomorphs for that matter, those people are usually pretty tough (meso, which the job pretty much requires) and eat big.

It's the same reason you don't usually see NFL types in the nba, the nature of the "job" dictates who works there.

peace

Yeah exactly. That's why o-lifters are short as well. They're not short because they haven't grown anymore since they lift a lot and all that crap, but they are short because that body structure is efficient for that sport and short o-lifters are better than tall o-lifters so you see more short o-lifters at the elite levels since they are advantaged.

And I liked that astronaut example a lot. I was preparing to reply with that but you took it before me. :strong:

You should try a detox sometime. Maybe it'll help you drop weight. Some years ago my brother did some sort of one week detox. He didn't particularly enjoy it and the day he started eating hardy meals again he threw up a couple times, but it worked for him. At first he lost some weight, but afterward he packed on muscle faster than he had before. He's actually about 5 lbs. lighter than me. I have way too much leg muscle over him for his upper body to keep up with my weight, but before he moved out of the house he was over 160 I think, but he was ripped and still maintained super low bodyfat.

What's that all about? What do you do?

I'm down with that and I agree, it will improve movement efficiency a lot but once that's up to it's "maximum level" if you will... you're only going to be limited by your strength so...
