Any jumping fluctuations lately (inches gain or lost)?

Very very quick jump

Raptor, about the hip bend, I think it is in part due to genetics/limb structure. If you lok at the way cskin walks, his legs are slightly pointed outwards, meaning he has a glute preference. People with straighter legs, or legs pointed inwards may use the deeper quad bend more. Examples include Guy dupuy, maybe adarqui, AUT, myself.. it's hard for me to throw my legs out to much actually

I'm not sure about that. I still think Adarqui could get higher with more posterior chain, he's currently destroying his knees, (they look to be under extreme tension when he jumps judging by their position) in my opinion because of this high dependence on quads and their usage in jumping. To me, that's sub-optimal biomechanics. I know I'm on an island while saying what I'm about to say, but I don't really think it depends that much on the individual.

Yes, it does depend on the individual, but I think more in strength than in structure. I think in terms in structure the body will alter the jump stance (feet wider apart) and stuff like that, rather than muscle involvement. Muscle involvement depends on strength IMO.

i'm destroying my knees folks, because i'm not a "p-cain jumper"

Damn bro, sorry to hear that.  Ice that shit and do some glute bridges..... NOWWWWW!  ;)

ya, i mean my knees feel great, but apparently they are being destroyed.

thanks for the heads up raptor.

Iso extension stim before squatting might help the glutes come alive I guess...

I think lower gravity centers occur in posterior chain dominant jumpers, because that elongates the last step plant (feet thrown forward a lot).

interesting article...
I'm a slight anterior tilt, but if I flex glutes+abs, I get neutral

WTF? :ninja:

Yeah I know, increased awareness and control.

It also depends on muscle size. If you don't have it, there's nothing to control in the first place.

Do you think hip thrusts can possibly have a good effect into making you more aware (or aware again) of the glutes?

6774
Yeah that's exactly right. I mean, I felt like toasted after 50 minutes of warming up, but even so, I was jumping extremely high. I felt like I won't jump 12 inches and was in fact getting up very high.

Maybe with better conditioning I would've jumped even higher since I wouldn't have been so tired.

6775
What exactly did you do? And how did you discovered that you have ankle/feet issues?

6777
That makes me remember something:

When I was jumping very high with very little strength, that always occured after a GREAT warmup and never without a warmup. My vert was so low with warming up (lower than now). But the thing was - I was also doing STATIC stretching before my jumps. You know, just because our sports teacher forced us to...

But what if that's actually beneficial? I mean, I know it's going to temporarily make you weaker, but I was jumping great like 20 minutes after that occured (and also being warmed up greatly).

I seriously think Dizal Wizal is a hero... I mean, even with horrid ahem... I mean perfect form, he didn't yet get injured to my knowledge at least. That's beast (no sarcasm).

Well good luck, but for a 45+ you'll need to train 5 years or more I suppose without having major injury difficulties, with great nutrition and great training...

Actually, I just found this:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LhJL5bUOrY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LhJL5bUOrY</a>

It does seem pretty high, don't know how much but decent.

This one as well...

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ykADt4v1jA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ykADt4v1jA</a>

If you could come at my speed (that's slow already) I think you'd go much higher. And I'm not even an efficient jumper.
