You're probably taking off too much "sideish"...

Yeah it is interesting.

I'd buy Kelly's programs when he does them alone. When he "affiliates" with people like Maroko I won't even look (OK, I'll look but I won't buy).

I was 67 kg in weight at 1.83 height (147 lbs at 6'0) for like ~5 years (in between 15-20), going as low as 64 kg (140 lbs) at 20-21 because of huge depression/extreme stress of which I still have today. Then I stabilised at ~81 kg (178 lbs) since ~22 years old. I went up to 87 kg during last winter for strength purposes, then went back slowly at 81 again.

That was my point. I know he traines/trained for the high jump so he might have done some squats.

I don't know how much he can jump standing, no step.

But he DOESN'T SQUAT!

I wonder what does he squat while training for the high jump.

I am with you Adarqui, I thought it was a great project from a respected coach. I am hoping to interview Alan Stein about it. The only issue I had was that Alan, who is oviously a damn good trainer and knows his stuff, and who has, like me, got his knickers in a knot from time to time about vertical jump scam artists, and who interestingly has posted in various blogs about the need to customize your training, is now ironically selling the programs used in the can he dunk project.

He wouldn't have done that if there weren't money involved into it, would he?

Yeah I have no idea how that applies to a long jump. I mean, if you put all your power to jump in length there's still going to be a hangtime number... I have no idea of physics too well so I don't know.

Yeah hangtiming it from the heel rise to the heel back on the ground (since the center of gravity rises when the heel rises, so you're basically "in air" when that happens). Also these numbers make sense so I guess they're right.

I can jump a lot higher with that mini ball than without it... I just have a "purpose" to jump when I hold it.

And the jumps were 36 inches for Nightfly at the slingshot attempt, 28 inches for me at the low rim, 31 inches for me at the high rim off one ... so ... you know...
