Basketball / Played 3 on 3 with a Australian Boomer
« on: July 01, 2011, 01:53:57 am »
hey guys just wanted to share my experience i had today. today i went down to my local indoor basketball court to train with a few mates and all of a sudden Steven Markovic come down his currently in his off season he plays professionally in serbia and is on the australia national team. so me and my mates asked if he wanted to play a lil game of 3 on 3 and he said yes anyways basically the dude effortlessly layed up over me and shot jumpers on me all day now im not a bad defender and im pretty long i'm 6'5 and have an 6'8 wingspan but man i couldnt do anything he just moved so smoothly and was strong as hell. when it came to offence i shot some nice jumpers in his face but i couldnt get to the basket his got quick hands and his a smart player. anyways just wanted to share that with you guys btw his really nice, talked a lot about basketball with him

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: Weight lifting shoes
« on: June 17, 2011, 08:13:05 pm »
dude squatting in weightlifting shoes is the best i had the same problem as you so i brought some weightlifting shoes for cheap at 80 buck australia, you can really feel the difference in the transfer of energy from the ground up and its so much easier to squat deep. i'm 6'5 i use to have a lil bit of a problem squatting deep with normal shoes coz of balance but with weightlifting shoes its easier to balance and keep the weight on the heel/forefoot

what i found to be really helpful is doing single legged leg press. bulgarian split squats require a lot more use of stabiliser muscles so you will have trouble with balancing especially with the weaker leg which will then make your form shit. so try do single legged leg press for about 4 weeks then maybe get into bulgarian split squats

i didn't really test my vertical at my peak but i'm guessing it was around 33inch running off two feet
my greatest achievement when i was at my peak was dunking on a 6'11 guy on a fast break a day i will never forget.
i love the sport of oly weightlifting i even got myself a pair of oly weightlifting shoes which makes full squating and siting back into your heels a lot easier.

hey everyone its sam

i use to be on the t.v.s site but that shit died down so i have decide to make an appearance here
so a lil about myself well i'm 21 and 195.5cm tall without shoes and have had a dream of being able to throw it down between the legs for a very long time, i have trained for vertical on and off for like 2 years or so but injuries and financial situation have limited my progress a lot. i'm currently studying personal training and have recently been practicing Olympic lifts with a strength and conditioning coach which i'm loving, i recently purchased the vertical mastery program but i have yet to start it i gotta do the testing first anyways i'll be keeping a journal here and hope to be of help at sometime
