What do you guys do when you are about to test your RVJ and SVJ do you guys do any warm ups any light weight training i.e. weighted squat jumps on to a box, etc.

thanks

testing svj/rvj/speed, all i do is just a big warmup.. progressing the intensity until im ready to start getting in my work-up jumps.. once im feeling good during the work up jumps, i go for pr's.. i used to do fancy warmups, but now i just do layups/dribbling prior to jumping/dunking... ill do say 50 layups (alternating left/right) before i start my warmup jumps.. ill then hit say 10 warmup jumps, completely relaxed.. then ill move into my 'work up jumps', trying to jump a little higher each time i jump, so say 6-8 or so.. then i go for my max jumps, which is about 10-20 jumps.

as for measuring, for jumping, it's just touch height minus standing reach.. for sprinting, you'll need to use video or have someone time you.. video is great, if you can get a side angle of the sprint and put some marker at the finish line, you can time it very accurately.

just warmup really good, breaking a sweat, and feeling as if you can go maximal effort on a jump/sprint at any moment, that's when you know you're ready to go.

i think people just dont realize how hard it is.. once they do, it scares them.

reality thins the herd.. we have some great people still working hard on this site, survivors of the reality slap to the face.

from my facebook...

mindblown, my dog just tried broad jumping (from chair to couch) about 6 feet.. hit the couch with half his body.. limped around for 5 minutes.. now he's good, but, makes absolutely no sense that he tried to jump that far.. i still can't understand it lmao.

^^^^^ one of the weirdest things ive ever seen.. no joke.

a few real hard dunks, some of these stills are from my warmup jumps, forget which.

i hate how the heat shuts me down.. indoor i can go 30+ jumps and feel good.. outdoor with lots of heat, 15 is tough.

adarqui said that he had disc, back injuries from deadlifting years ago... he had those lightning bolts too...

You did? So you had the same problem as I have now? What did you do to solve it?

yup, had shooting pains down my leg from horrible form deadlifts, before i knew anything about proper training/while i was in computer science, could barely walk, lasted about 3 months, thats why i got obsessed with exercise science, to fix myself.

i did tons of prone superman's and then eventually progressed to 45 degree hypers, thats how i fixed my back.. took months.
