well the deload is to be done only when you have 'over' worked your system...that is you fatigue ur cns and then you deload so you supercompensate....if you dont train 'hard enough' to fatigue your system, then there is no point deloading.

theres 2 cases why your squat may go down :
1) too little training in the period before - now you need to increase the training stimulus (more weight/more volume/more frequencey)
2) too much training in the period before - now you need a deload, so a decrease in the trianing stimulus

so in your case, if you want to use a deload, you need to train harder the weeks BEFORE that deload.

but if everyfing is working, why overcomplicate it?

Well I guess djoe just answered perfectly. You don't really need to do a deload just for the sake of deloading, so basically, don't deload until you hit that chronic load syndrome.

When do you usually deload? Each... what # of weeks? Or you deload when you think you have to?

You probably won't find them pretty much anywhere... I have them on my HDD but they are long seminars... djoe has them too (he send them to me), adarqui has them (I send them to him) and I think Lance has them too. I don't know if I can be bothered to upload them AGAIN.

The idea is this:

Acute relieving syndrome: Happens during de-loads when you'd usually measure things to see improvements. Pfaff has actually found out the performance decreased during deloads so he was doing his measurements a week or so into the training plan (into full training and not into deload weeks).

Chronic load syndrome: It's when you do the same thing over and over and over and you stop responding to stimuli, so you need to change that stimuli.

There are certain waves of "training intensities" that happen during a year or season or whatever. It's how you manipulate that that creates results and it obviously is individual.

I don't doubt the zoom waffle racers at all. I have been training in a pair of Adidas Fluid trainers. Probably not quite as light as the Waffle racers  but pretty light, very comfortable, nice flexible soul - basically awesome.

They look good with jeans too.

Oh yeah Raptor. I look good in them naked too. But I look great in anything naked due to my extreme buffness and super tight abs.  8)

I also like women in high heels and no clothes. It is a strange combination really to like. I mean if you are a women and yo uhave taken off your clothes, presumably to ahve sex, then surely it isn;t that big a deal to whip off the shoes too! Oh well, that is pornorgraphy messing with our modern male psyche for you.

Yeah but I don't want her to whip the shoes off too. I like to keep them there. Makes her butt more rounded and anteriorly rotated, which looks much better. Plus it elongates the legs.

I have about 62-64...

From what I know of, the heart of all the animals has pretty much the same limit in terms of lifetime and beats. The only difference is that for some animals it beats faster, for others, slower.

couch potatoes live longer??? they're hearts have less beats than athletes for sure.

ya i disagree with raptor's statement, it's not like the heart is a clock and will just run out of battery at some predetermined time.. it's usually not the heart itself that is the problem, it's usually arterial wall buildup of plaque etc, stuff like that.. a heart can pretty much beat for a really long time if everything else is healthy.

There's nothing to disagree. The only thing is the coach potato will have other problems and heart limit isn't going to be the determining factor of his problems.

I'm convinced that high frequency squatting is the thing for me. It's no coincidence that EVERRYYYY TIMEEEEE that I miss a single workout day, or it gets delayd by a day, I HIT A SLUMP. Some people might say "oh, its  a nice deload, you'll come back stronger" but it never happens to me!!! Fuck it, I'm doing smolov jr for at least 3 weeks when I have break from college.

Well if you listen to Pfaff's acute relieving syndrome and chronic fatigue syndrome, maybe you'll understand more about what's happening. Search for them (although I'm not sure if they are well represented anywhere other than filmed seminars).

Dreaming is good, it only occurs during REM sleep so that's deep sleep which is very resting.

Haha yeah I'd really like to visit New York, but Miami is cool too ;D

Problem is - time is passing by. There's only a small window of athleticism... which is fading as the days go by (unless you're training and getting better, that is :D).

I'd really really like to see Vince play in real life... time on THAT is going by rapidly.

That goes way back... to the days when I was being a member of the streetball.co.uk forum some 7 years ago... we used a similar smilie like crazy. It's meant to be a "sarcastic" smilie.

Yes I am... nothing fancy, I'm using 30 kg for the moment... but it's great in terms of movement, so natural. I'm still kind of afraid to use more weight (maybe it's not such a good idea afterall until my form is great) - but I definitely do them better form wise than cleans. In the clean, I can NEVER EVER keep the elbows forward... if I get one elbow forward like I'm supposed to, the other one must be perpendicular to the floor. It can't go forward ONE BIT no matter what you do. Weird stuff to say the least, I have no idea what this means in terms of flexibility (what muscle is inflexible).

So I either do the catch with the elbows perpendicular to the floor and all the weight being amortized by the hands/elbows (since the bar is catched on the chest and not on the deltoids) or I don't do the catch at all... I don't know. I haven't found anybody to answer that question about the inflexibility (or maybe I should widen the grip but that doesn't correct it either).

Anyway, the snatch feels so much more "athletic" if you will.
