i must admit, i'm not at all a fan of foam rolling.. for some people, yes, it really does help, mostly with the ITBand.. but honestly, after i stopped foam rolling i actually realized i felt better.. long warmups and post-session stretching i find much more effective, imo.

you gotta hand it to zgin, though, that was exceptionally well-placed.

High five, zgin.

i have to agree, as cliche/juvenile as it was, his eloquence & use of size 50pt font is to be admired.

yea, but this is what i do as the post-session...i am trying to add in pnf stretching but this is pretty knew to me

so i'll hit static stretching, then pnf, and top it off with the foam rolling

and i always have long warm-ups when i work by myself...actually my warm up is so long it sometimes takes up to 45min if i go slow or get interrupted or something

Foam rolling: Great activity? Or the greatest activity?

Foam rolling hurts like a motherfucker (at least for my adhesion-packed ass) but it feels so good afterward and it helps so much with tissue health in the medium-long term. Could not agree more with this.

Other nice things to do are rolling the bottom of your foot, shoulders and glutes with a tennis or lacrosse ball. And calves/soleus/peroneals if you're feeling especially masochistic.

yea, after a while it doesn't hurt as much anymore..And i feel like i am not as tight

just wanna bring it to attention that foam rolling is a great thing to do!

i hit it with a static stretching session every night right before i get to bed

i'll be sweatting cuz of the stretching but once it's over i feel super relaxed

First of all there is no way bron is gonna be MJ
it's just not possible, MJ was the only MJ..look how serious a competitor the guy was
only a select few guys in the whole world have the level of competitiveness he did
plus MJ shot better and got better as he was in the league, lebron seems to stay about the same in my eyes
MJ had great D, Mj was shorter, Mj was a beast on the vertical, AND MJ WON GAMES
lebron is super tall, Lebron doesn't pull through in games as MJ did, BRON DOES NOT HAVE MJ"S HEART!!!!!!!

bron is unfortunately a very un-smart person..but he went with what his heart told him to so don't bitch about it because maybe he doesn't like Cleveland? and maybe your not lebron so maybe you don't know the real reason he left

but i know everyone is different, i have to say, i admit that i think almost every great sprinter is a genetic freak, but there are some that work super super hard..not usain though, friken lucky SOB

yea you basically have to look at their numbers while they were at high school age, that tells you everything.. most every sprinter you look up will have great times in h.s., i can't even think of any right now off the top of my head that didn't :/ but you have alot of room to improve, 11.8 at your strength level/age is not bad at all.. that training yo uare doing is having a big impact.

[/quote]

that's why i agree that most high school coaches don't know what they are doing

like we have alot of genetic freaks on the track team...well only the top guys are super genetic freaks really

one guy looks like he is a bodybuilder, and does'nt even lift that much, i mean huge, though he is super short
he runs 100m better than me
another is a guy who is just crazy, his brother plays for the NO saints and he is running 11.1

anyway i keep getting faster

but i am curious about this short heel thing, what does that mean? like how do i tell if my heel is long or short? i know i have long toes (tmi prolly) and i have a realatively long achilies tendon and small-medium sized calf
I have small joints and long limbs 2

so i think i have sprinter structure but i could just be the run of the mill guy though..idk what exactly is this sprinter structure...

Well, Marian Woronin ran 9.992, but that was rounded up to 10.0.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marian_Woronin

A half-white half-aborigine guy ran 9.93. I do not know if that counts though.

the aborigine was what i was talking bout, forgot his name tough

if i did 9.992 and they rounded up i'd probably strangle the guy who did it hehe

sprint speed you say? do you mean outa the blocks or top speed and acceleration? because the only thing i can find that it would help is outa the blocks...i thought top speed was more reactive and acceleration was a mix of both

correct me if i am wrong, just taking guess here
