I remember the worst... it was that slow guy that jumped like 4 inches for the rebound jump.

it was some hockey guy, he lands and loads up for like 3 seconds swinging his arms back and forward, then jumps like 4".

REA SQUATS:
4x3@143
-Great , real freefall!

MSEM SQUATS ( Eccentric normal , transition + concentric as explosive as possible ) :
8x1@209 , ( +33lbs for first 4 reps , +22 for the rest )
- Great explosion  , was jumping a couple of inches off the ground!

sounds like a powerful session, good work man.. when you bumping those msem squats up though? i mean you could do them at 90+% of 1RM so, just wondering.

Thanks for the props, guys!

Tomorrow begins adarq plan numba 1, with my new shoes that just came. Sweet.

EDIT: This is a bit silly, but the shoes have me absolutely champing at the bit to go work out. I can't wait to see what squats are like with real shoes on instead of elevating my heels on little plates.

COB tomorrow cannot come soon enough. Might even try to dip out of work a little bit early (boss is in Egypt).

what kind of shoes you get again? which brand?

did a timed interval thing today.

30 seconds 135 on the benchx4
30 seconds high pull to clean n press 135lbsx4
30 seconds pull upsx4 (which didnt really get to far)

then i did 20 minutes on the treadmill at 5.5mph, last minute i put the incline to 15 which killed my legs
10 mins on the bike
10 mins on the arch trainer
20 minutes on the elliptical

just to switch things up.

all together i did 5.5 miles

plan on doing another hour of cardio later tonight, and some back n arm work

nice man that's a good workout.

SST is where it all started for me..  Adarq makes it alot easier to understand for people though..  You think super training is worth getting or is all the available info just composed into the book? still getting the book but curious to what you think?

ya i imagine the new supertraining would be great.. it's all pretty much the science behind everything, less application yet more in depth analysis of ALL of the compnents to athletic performance. check it:

http://www.verkhoshansky.com/Portals/0/Book/Supertraining%20index.pdf

the first supertraining was amazing but i imagine with all of verkhoshansky's corrections and added material, the newer version will be truly epic. Going to pick me up a copy soon ;)

Wow haven't been here in a while. Interesting stuff going on.
For the first two, the big white guy, his terrible form is more a product of his low vertical. He does not have the reactive strength to perform a tuck jump with good form and enough hangtime.

For the ankle hops - he is not overloading his ankles as much as he could if he did not flex knee.

yup

For leg press - he's not training for strength; he is lifting very slowly, stopping at bottom of motion wastes the kinetic energy that can be turned into an explosive lift. That type of lifting is good for endurance and general strength/hypertrophy maybe.

i didn't rewatch the vid, but i remember the leg press he did looked really bad because of how his feet placement was, looked like he was using way too much "quad".. there's a way to do leg press that at least hits the hams/glutes a bit more, ie foot flat, feet placement a little higher.. i remember his feet were low and at the bottom his heels were off the plate.

Lol I loved this thread by the way, worst depth jump I've ever seen. I felt lazier watching it

lol, that's not the worst i've seen if you can imagine that.. can't find the worst one i've seen, but it was so bad that i'm laughing right now thinking about it.

Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / Re: Overspeed sprinting
« on: December 06, 2010, 07:23:07 am »
I wonder what happens if you do a downhill sprint followed immediately by an uphill sprint. Like a \_/ running slope.

have a 'client athlete' that's pissing you off? load him up on heavy sled sprints, very heavy, so he's about 10-20% of the speed he could achieve for that distance (say 20 yards).. hit a bunch of sled sprints, say 5-10.. now, tell him to sprint maximally for ~20 yards etc, no 'warmup/re-acclimation sprints', pretty high of a chance he eats it (falls down)..

i've seen it happen quite a few times.

your post just reminded me of that.. if you ran uphill first, for say 5-10 sprints, then if you ran downhill, it would be pretty catastrophic imo.. the cns would overexagerate the lean, and going downhill, that would be very bad haha.. i know your post was the opposite of that, but whatever just found that funny.
