- run 7.63 km in 38:32 (light strides x 200m at the beginning of km 4,5,6,7)

- stretch

the strides were submax, just threw them in to get something a little more high-intensity in. felt the right knee sprinting pull/tightness a little on the first rep and held back a bit after that.

heading to southeast asia tonight for a week on the beach!

was worried about muscle loss with such a fast and drastic weight drop so I hit the gym instead of max effort sprints today

that's not how rapid weight loss works. but big ups on the PRs, especially 2x bw squat!

quads a little sore/tired. left ham a little tight to start but loosened up fine after a couple kilometers.

- frisbee x 1.5 hours

forgot watch but probably ran a little more than last time because no subs.

2183
- run 7.79 km in 40:34

- stretch

right knee still bugging a bit. did this all on the track and it's been raining a lot so ground pretty soft, very soft in places. still ~12s/km quicker than i've been running without additional effort because it's a bit cooler right now.

- run 8.57 km in 46:08

- stretch

right knee and right toe bugging a bit. the knee started after the treadmill run on sunday. left hamstring also started feeling, not tight, just kind of present in a way, about 5 km in. might be time for new shoes. i've put about 1000 km on these.

tbh i'm surprised the iten fitness tourism industry isn't more built out than it seems to be, given how many rich fitness hobbyists there are. at a glance this place looks like a foreign guy profiting off of indigenous culture, which sets off alarm bells. happens all over the world in the tourism industry, including here in pakistan. not impugning this dude in particular, maybe he's doing things right. easy to do things wrong, though.

it's great that you're staying so motivated even after the disappointment of not making one of the bigger clubs. IME dominating on a crappy team is a good way to get noticed by the bigger teams. if you stay healthy and keep showing out at tournaments where truck stop, mad men, whoever the good mixed teams are now, etc. are playing they do notice. "team X sucks but so-and-so gets D's and has a huge backhand," or whatever.

Lol i appreciate it but I actually like and get along with the team I am playing on now and thinking about playing here next year unless I make Truck. Coach is an excellent analyst and it would be good to try to build inatead of starting from scratch every new team I make. Besides, the W/L doesn't tell the whole story and this was a pretty high level tournament.

even better.

went to karachi for the weekend, just for a mini getaway while gf is down there for work. she'd left her running shoes behind so i brought them down to her and we went to the hotel gym yesterday for a good sweat.

yesterday

- run 7.2 km in 40:00
nice and easy

- some random upper push/pull and BSS

- stretch

back too late tonight to run, there was a huge traffic jam on the highway getting home. back to normal tomorrow.

so, some news related to my other posts.. guy turned himself in. i'm just glad that part is over with.

also, turns out he's an assistant basketball coach @ Wake Forrest.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/08/09/wake-forest-assistant-basketball-coach-charged-with-assault-in-deadly-nyc-attack.html

http://www.espn.com/espnw/sports/article/24334116/jamill-jones-wake-forest-demon-deacons-threw-punch-killing-nyc-tourist-police-say

didn't expect to be seeing this story on espn etc.. but now it surely will be. kind of crazy. :/

what the fuck?
