Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: Age vs Vertical
« on: October 25, 2011, 05:39:40 pm »
1) Triple orgasm viewing the picture
2) Great ball - I bet you have great grip with that ball
3) I don't get why you don't jump off one leg for a while and try to dunk... you SHOULD be able to dunk consistently at one point. It's also much easier to dunk in a game off one leg, much more in rhythm as you penetrate and rise vs. having to jump stop and jump off two feet (in my opinion at least).

180 kg / 400 lbs deadlift :personal-record: today. That's a 2.19 ratio.

sick.. u gonna get vid of 405?

I was ABOUT to take the cam with me that day but I was like "nah I won't do it". I don't think I'll film that soon because it's too risky, frankly, to do it often. Maybe somewhere in the future I'll attempt a similar weight but as of right now I want to limit the max deadlifts to ~150 kg because the risk vs reward ratio is not very good with deadlifts and with my back condition.

Thanks anyway ;)

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: General Strength Training Principles

I had that in mind (pulling back) for my next hang powerclean workout... I pull too in front/vertical and DON'T hyperextend (or even extend properly) neither the knees NOR the hips. In fact, I'm very far from doing that.

So it makes sense to actually exaggerate a bit a think "pull back" if I'm already too far in front.

What about pulling back (as if you're trying to throw the bar overhead) vs. pulling up?

I was thinking about that, and I checked it again - I think you use a bit more speed and plant a bit more deep but I still maintain what I said back then - you could probably elongate the plant (plant with a longer "drop") and more to the side, like here: :ibjumping: and you might get higher.

If you can, it's worth trying I guess.

That looked pretty high. I liked the technique on the 2nd jump a bit more.
