- bouldering x one hour
again pretty weak and out of sorts.

today

- run 56:58, 8.95 km
exactly 10 min/mile pace, nice. not too hot but humidity is super high, T+DI 183.

super hot and humid. hopefully this is the last peak summer day here.

weak and out of sorts. i have slept badly two of the last three nights, last night only got about 4 hours. that never helps. also the week and change off left my hands softer than i'd have thought after such a short time. the callouses are still there but the skin in between is rubbed raw. ribs and back a little achey.

went to the gym twice, i think. not going to log the workouts except to note that i squatted 205 x 5,5 again and also DL'd for the first time in eight (?) years. 225 x 5. felt good. also kayaked some, which is always a good time! back home now.

off to the beach tomorrow for the annual family trip. will be going to the gym a bunch because wife can't drive and needs to go to keep up her knee rehab and maintain sanity. gonna bring the old do-wins.

did two black ones! that's the next level up from orange. one i got after working on it with a nice guy who walked over as i was first trying it and said, "wow this looks hard." we worked on it together and both got it after about 20-25 minutes. then i did the new long black one in the overhanging section, which they just reset. first time completing a black on there. very satisfying!

nice and easy, then just over a mile from home kicked up to progressively faster pace, from 4:25 down to ~4:00, for a mile. cooled down for the last couple hundred meters. warm day, not too hot or humid. but running hard still heated me up quite a bit.

pretty good session. i got the dynamic orange one that i'd been trying for a few sessions. just about committing to the jump and trusting that you're strong enough to catch and hold. also made more progress on the looong black one. i need to work on crimps.

nice and easy. it was very humid. but i like the route i found more than the last ~5 mile route.

right mid-back felt fine but left was saying hello. got pumped out weirdly quickly, i think i was just tired and maybe underfed.

last night

- run 30:39, 5.23 km
just to get the juices flowing. work has gone nuts this week. but did a new route, along a protected bike lane that goes all the way to a trail that leads to my office. i haven't been going in this summer but once we have to start going in again in september that'll be a great running route. four miles door-to-door.
