we are amateurs who are dedicated and push ourselves but without proper supervision (mostly), sleep (lots of us -- especially the guys with kids), and prehab. and in a lot of cases suboptimal nutrition.

WEIGHT: ???
SORENESS: none
ACHES/INJURIES: lower back tight
MENTAL STATE: not great, bob

- warm up

- one-step RVJ x 3,3,3
very stiff

- MB OH toss (no step) x 6

- squat MSEM 300 x 6
got angry, bar was flying

- decline leg raise x 10; +7.5 x 10,10

- stretch

my brother OD'd again last night so instead of a long combo jumps+lifts workout i got this in after visiting him in the hospital. he's okay, all things considered. the gym felt great even though this wasn't much of a workout, rarely does it feel like as much of a self-care thing as it did tonight.

if you ever watched those videos of ben johnson quarter squatting 500+, you know charlie francis believed this, too.

the idea of quarter squatting makes my knees cry, though.

the difference between 1 and 2-3 is HUGE. look how much longer and faster your last step is. nice.

i'd stop running altogether if you're worried about getting injured. can you up biking volume instead? or row? crossfit-style stuff isn't a replacement for low-intensity cardio but it should be fine as well as long as it doesn't stress your achilles.

my n=1 is that heavy weighted decline situps fuck up my back if i do them too frequently or too intensely. much prefer toes-to-bar; ab wheel rollouts also good.
