i'll just jump in to second t0ddday's observation. his torso is bigger, my legs are bigger but if we were both wearing long pants and long sleeves we'd look comparable. fwiw, i've only broken little bones (nose, couple fingers). and my worst traumatic impact injury was bones getting dislocated; they didn't break.

but i've had a lifetime of nagging and acute joint injuries.

Flander and this woman I've been hooking up with together are making me want to do @fit again. So tempted. Might go this week after normal workout.

EDIT: signed up for a class tomorrow evening  :-X  gotta see if i can do push presses with 135 today. don't wanna embarrass myself.

Hey. Still here, last two weeks have been hectic at work. Drained me physically and mentally, didn't have courage or mood to workout. At the back of my head i also had the resting thing too, like everyone else in here i am unable to rest myself on demand to heal up sth, i just try to train around it. So forced rest sometimes is a blessing.
Getting back at it today hopefully.

meant to mention, i hit a milestone in geneva: full-ROM pistol on each leg with feet flat in sneakers. have always had to at least have my heel elevated a little; my shoes have a 4mm drop. the ankle mobility work is paying off at least in that small way. next stop, barefoot pistols for reps.

part of the point -- and i got into a shit fight with kelly baggett about it on here years ago -- is that "black" is a social category that has little to do with genetic characteristics apart from dark skin (and there are exceptions even to that! i have white friends, not to mention south asians, who are darker than many "black" people). ethiopians and nigerians are more genetically different from each other than swedes and koreans. but put an australian aborginal, an ethiopian, and a nigerian together in des moines and they're all "black." so it's a useless category when you're talking about genetics and sport.

also, fuck malcolm gladwell. look how smoothly he moves from "african-american" to "kenyan" in that piece. most african-americans are descended from west africans and the whites who raped them, not kenyans. are genetics a factor in allowing people of west-african descent to dominate short sprints, and kenyans and ethiopians to dominate 10k+? most likely. but those factors have little or nothing to do with them being "black."
